This is a tutorial to get free unique content for your blog!

1. Search local job sites using google or asking around
2. Post a job on the site such as 'ONLINE JOURNALIST'
3. Ensure that you post in the description that it is an UNPAID job. You can say that there is a possibility of being paid at the end or even say that there's a trial period.
4. Have applicants email you a sample article on your niche/topic.
5. Wait for the emails to roll in and start posting the articles on your blog.
6. Reply to the people whose articles you liked and tell them you'd like to have them on a trial/something like that.
7. Have them keep writing for you and keep posting these articles.

I've done this for my own stuff and it works beautifully!

Try and pick an industry where there is a lot of people looking for jobs, i.e. fashion.

Even a better way search for expired domains in your niche and rip the content using archive.org. Works like charm have been doing it for a while.

Step 3 clearly states that you tell people that they are not getting paid. If they choose to send in work, tell me how that is ripping them off or stealing their work?

You're not FORCING anybody to send you stuff. You're clearly offering an opportunity for people to get some experience writing online, you are posting the articles - not stealing from them, they are WRITING for your site.

If you are seriously complaining about this method, you really need to get off your high horse.

Hence why I mention in Step 3 to ensure that you mention it's UNPAID.

You can ask yourself if it's ethical, but that's up to you?
Then again, you can ask yourself if it's ethical to cheat google's system and rank your website higher?

Better yet, make a nice website and get some traffic and SEO rep, and guest posts will start rolling in....I've been running my own website/blog with free guest posts from last 6-7 months...I get around 4-5 good enough articles per week for guest posting...

Normally I wouldn't get annoyed about the stupidity of some people and the face that I've lost (2) rep points, but this is an absolute joke.

I am showing you how you CAN use this method to get some unique content.
I am sharing an idea with BHW and stupid people are complaining that it is unethical, stealing and ripping people off.

I clearly state that you should advertise it as a UNPAID position. If people decide to write articles for you as an unpaid journalistic opportunity, tell me how that is:
a) Unethical
b) Ripping them off
c) Stealing

I can see that some people may argue that it's unethical, and I can agree that there is an argument there - but think about what else is on this site?
E-Whoring, spamming, cheating google to get higher page rank, etc.
Don't talk to me about unethical when you are doing things like that.

Ask any journalist out there, they all did unpaid work for experience.

If you are not fond of the method, don't use it.
If new members think that BHW is encouraging people to rip people off it's probably because they've read your replies in this thread. The Original Post stated clearly that it was unpaid and thus it would not be ripping people off. If it had stated 'Paid Position, only 1 available' and then made people send in submissions and used them all that might have been classified as ripping people off.


Please read the original post before commenting with your opinion / agreeing with other members because you want to be in their good books.

So long as you don't be a dick to the person you end up hiring and INTENTIONALLY scam them, I don't see too much of a problem with this.

The way I see it is like this. You want to hire someone but you'd like to see examples of their work before actually hiring them, that's only fair really. You wouldn't hire a tiler to tile your bathroom without seeing their previous work.

So you put an ad out with the intent of hiring a person at the end of it all but you get the added bonus of getting free articles from the applicants that didn't quite make the cut. No big deal really.

Because you make them expect you may eventually hire them when in fact you never plan to do that. This is called scamming and you, sir, are a moron for abusing people who probably struggle to have food to put on the table for their family. Trust me, karma has a way of turning back and biting you in the ass at the worst moment for you.

Because of people like you, many good writers will never ever write a test article for free for a legit employer like me. I've met freelancer who don't want to engage in a long term collaboration with any employer because they've been scammed so many times they expect to get scammed again. Is like when you get hart broken in so many relationships that you end up thinking all women are bitches and will hurt you so you end up being defensive even against those who loved you. Is the same principle.

Instead of scamming people and trying to get stuff for free, why not think out your business so you can actually make money and afford to hire people and give them a good salary and help them have a better life while you have a better life. Win-loose collaborations are shit. Do win-win ones, they are not a lot harder, just require you to be a better person and not settle for being an asshole.

I see people complaining how life is cruel and hard and all that. They always complain about life and other people but they never look at themselves. There's a great quote from Gandhi - "You must be the change you want to see in the world."
