Anyone into computers?

I got an Intel HD 4000 with THIS monitor.
I got DVI to DVI cable, when I connect the monitor to the tower, it says "NO SIGNAL", when I connect the RGB it reads it... What can be the problem?

Haven't used a desktop in about 5 years, since windows XP but it may be that you have your GFX card set to projector or you may need to set it to projector. We have the same problems when connective computers to the TV with HDMI. Just need to play with the settings.

Change the Input Option of your screen or change the cable.

You need to switch from Analog to Digital in your graphics/monitor setting.
Also check in your monitor menu to enable DVI.

It's a long & confused thread with multiple users, problems and fixes. One post said installing the monitor driver vs. generic fixed the problem. I'd install the video card's most-recent driver from the manufacturer.

Okay, well.. I found the digital/analog button my my monitor.
BUT when I press it, it goes to black screen, then switches back to normal screen and says "analog" again.

I believe I did.
I mean I did screw in the 2 screws opposite of eachother as well for 'stability'.

Are you sure the monitor works? Try another monitor or hook it up to another pc to see if it works.

Unplug your monitor and plug it back in and see if the manufacturers logo goes on the screen. The logo should appear, even if it isn't plug into your tower.

Also try updating your g-card drivers.

It is only going to be one of a few things:
1. Bad monitor
2. Drivers
3. Bad cord or not seated correctly
4. Bad g-card

Sounds like you are "answer shopping" only paying attention and responding to answers you understand and ignoring those you don't. Classic blunder. Talent loses interest and goes elsewhere, and you are left with button pushers and cable jigglers. At some point, someone shows up and says "format and reinstall windows" and because you are desperate, that's what you do.

The fact that you don't understand a suggestion is a pretty good indicator that the person that gave it to you knows more about it than you do. Be a good idea to get out of your comfort zone or pretty soon you'll be seriously considering the "3 foot drop test" as a legitimate course of action.

you need to select dvi on the monitor?

you have put the cable into the dvi card on the back of YOUR computer, know select dvi on the monitor.

some times you need to go into your computer bios and set the graffics card to dvi

your get there in the end ...

my monitor goes blank unless I select dvi or auto
