Meanwhile back on the Euro Front Google feels the need to threaten the French Government......

Google has threatened to exclude French media sites from search results if France goes ahead with plans to make search engines to pay for content.
In a letter sent to several ministerial offices, Google said such a law "would threaten its very existence".
French newspaper publishers have been pushing for the law, saying it is unfair that Google receives advertising revenue from searches for news.

to be honest I don't think it's a good news, they will keep modifying the organic results... a lot

Seems the French are well ahead of the curve here........ Google has been cutting edge search through the noughties but maybe the future heralds another scope for it to be seen as a dirty little scraper who violates copy write. Governments are going to be forced into acting.

Is this where it is going to fall down where it envisages it's knowledge engine? Its all very well bringing back text line results say to the London Times or the WSJ to a story of interest to the searcher but when they start displaying images and scraping half the text from the story of interest then it is grabbing potential advertising revenue from the media outlets which broke the story.

The more I think about this the more I realise the French are on the right track............

Perhaps Panda and Penguin are not paying off after all, relevant results = lower incentive to click ads= lower earnings for google.

Well, It's pretty obvious that they force people to use PPC by manipulating with SERPS like every month. It's just unfair way of dealing with businesses. That's what they got now. They lost. I predict in 10 years we won't know google the way it is today.

The press release says that clicks on ad increased 33% y on y.

So people are clicking more on ads due to the shitty organic results ( just a theory ) but maybe advertisers are not getting the ROI they expect
and are testingout/moving to other platforms like FB,
so the dip in revenue can be due to moving of ad budgets by corporates, ( only speculation )

this means googles attempt to cause chaos on organic search and push people into paid search is either working,,, just takes time, or back fired. The fact that they stopped handing out free $100 vouchers (you have to pay for the first $15 now) tells me that there getting defensive. So what does this mean, for the first time in a long time google missed its earnings, bing is on the rise, and voice search (sirri) might be the next big thing. I see them loosening up the algorithm.
 
Goog about to come back to the market.... 20 Minutes past the hour trading will resume 3.20PM Eastern or 8.20 PM where I am....
 
suppose you optimized the page seo with high cpc and that page comes in google top. There will related ads to the article and keyword. When a visitor read the article they will see a related ad and definatly he will be interested to click on that ad therefore if the ad and article, keywords are not matching how is it possible someone click on the ad.

Yes, the data can change and I am not going to continually update this thread so the data is accurate. The data was accurate at the time of posting and stocks move up and down so if you look later, know that the data will be different.

Not bad for a company whose motto is "do no evil" lol, the big brother's taking a hit... Also the French Govt is not the only one at war with them, also FTC expressed several concerns about google, but guess who stepped in: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2012/10/congressman-warns-ftc-leave-google-alone
