Hi folks, i have a NL paypal account. Recently i have got a notification that i am closing the limit of 2500 euros they allow under EU law and they want verification docs aka Passport/ID/Drivers license to validate and raise the limits. I just want to know if they really verify it with govt docs or just thr normal verification. Somebody plz shed some light. Thanks :)

They asked me that too, I've sent them legit docs and everything went well... I used legit info, but I don't think they actually get it verified by goverment (they replied that my info is ok in less than half an hour, I don't think they can verify it with gov that fast)

just normal verification - Dont worry. I didnt even upload my infos and got unlimited paypal account

Great. Thanks to both of you bros :)

Same here

Mind you though, you have to be clever about it as PayPal are known to run basic checks against faked documents. For instance, it's pretty easy to tell whether a doc has actually been scanned / photographed or saved from within Photoshop (just open the image in a text editor and you'll see Photoshop's footprint)

They also asked me for that documentation.

I send all and they limited my account for ever, the reason was that I was 17 when opened the account and you must have 18.

But, I opened a new account and told them what happened, they solve the problem by deleting my old account, now I can use the same bank to verify my PayPal account.

And of course the money that I had on my old account got returned to my bank even a money back return with one service after my account got limited.
