Okay, I think it's about time I start sharing a few things here, since I've gained so much since discovering this place.

This is a little trick I used a few times to find good underestimated niches that some people I knew were making serious money from.

Probably that most of you already know that, but hey, if it can help anyone.. ;)

Whenever you "meet" someone that you KNOW is making serious money with one niche in particular.. but you just dont know what it is..

They all have signature links to one of their websites.

Take that url, go to backlinkwatch.c0m and check for backlinks.

If there is anything like article directories/social bookmarking, hit that, and check the profile for all their previous work..
chances are the niche with the most articles/link is a good one (except if the guy's an idiot and hes wasting his time..)

If there are no article dir or anything, take another domain name there and put it back in backlinkwatch to see for that one.

Also, for people who do have a little money to invest, if you go to d0maintools.com and you type in a url, you will usually have a reverse ip line down there, saying : There are 18 other domains hosted on this server.

If it's a shared server, chances are it will say 4579 domains.. but people making serious money usually end up buying their own server or VPS..

By clicking this, d0maintools can look up all the other domains owned by that person, for a certain fee (but there is always a 7 day free trial period ;)

Hope this could help a few of you
If you didnt know about that, please hit the Thanks button

this is so obvious, but i didn't know it :)

Cool advice, to add to that you can actually find out what domain names are hosted on the same server using Live Search.

Simply ping the domain name, get the webservers IP address.

Then use in live search then in live.com type "IP:your-ip-here" and it will return all the pages. ;)

As demonstrated here:
hxxp://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=ip%3A89.238.131.135&go=&form=QBLH&qs=n

wow, great ideas,

Once you have websites you can input them here in Googles Keyword Tool and get keywords based on the content.

i'd also use those domains on quantcast to dig deeper

Wow dude !
I didn't know about that one, but this is exactly the missing part that is needed.
I never wanted to pay freaking $100 to d0maintools to get the list, but this is the exact same thing for free :D

Thanks

well I can tell you i get different results with reverse tool on domaintools.com than live search results.
