Good Lord. That's insane. I need to find some JV's! although I'm not in a very JV-heavy niche, so I don't know where you found non-IM specific lists...

In a JV, do you have to like pay those affiliates more? or is it just a mutual sharing strategy where they blast an email to their list and then u do that for their list?

Basically JVs are built up over a number of years, you promote their product and vice versa, each time your list builds up more so you can then get more sales for people which in turn makes them want to get more sales for you.

It takes a long time to get to days like that but it's possible for anyone to do with a little determination.

I am a vendor and an affiliate but that happens to be one of my vendor accounts.
