Lawn sign method.

Hi guys, a friend of mine told me about this site and ive been lurking for a few days. Ill add a method which is pretty interesting but i dont know if it has been posted on here yet. I wish i could do this because i think this guy gets many more hits than someone using CL (btw sorry for any incorrect terminology, im new here). Anyway, he affiliates with a dating site and what he does is he has lawn signs made, not sure of what they're really called. He advertises local dating, "Find singles in Freehold" "Find singles in Manalapan" he puts these signs along roads in each respective town and the url would be "freeholdsingles.com" and "manalapansingles.com" (those may not be exactly them, but something along those lines).

This method first of all reaches more people, there are 650,000 people in my county and i see these signs in most of the towns around here. Also it seems more legit than a CL post.

and YES , it is a wonderful method for getting traffic!!.... that's why government parties use those!!..

I am personally setting up a campaign right now where i'm planning on doing the same thing.... we'll see how it goes

I see those all the time around my small town but I really doubt anyone is making a profit from the town I live in.

However, it can be a good method if you target the right area.

sometime you may need a permit to place these signs too... i know here they are cracking down on this...

a friend of mine actually paid a good wad of cash for these permits, and then he said competitors who arent paying for the permits where trashing his signs... he was pissed... you try and do things by the book... be typical now for him to not bother with the permits and then get fined!!!

yes posted and done successfully, read a post here of someone who also saw the signs just like you but decided to do some scientific shit and fund out how there earning!!
the results were very impresive.. turned out to be a million dollar thing!
use the search botton and find it... was a big thread but well worth the read!

@ukeskuba- You MAY need a permit to do it.... but you won't get into trouble for putting them up....

If they tell you to NOT do it anymore, and you continue... THEN you can get into trouble... but without a warning, they can't do shit....

@Bluematter.... They're expensive (where I live)... they're like $10 a sign.... but I guess if you order a bunch, you get a deal on them!!..

I have actually tried this method a couple of times with varying success. I originally saw the dating signs that are everywhere. There is an article someone wrote about it that was interesting. I actually have a vinyl cutter and blank signs so I decided to give it a whirl a few months ago. I tried adapting the signs to other areas like payday loans and put the sign in a high traffic area. I had limited success with those signs(May have been a design issue though). But I tried again actually with the dating signs similar to the ones that are all over. Nice and simple "Lonely?" or something like that and a website on the sign. I actually had better success and a higher conversion rate with these signs. I am planning on trying this method again soon and seeing if I can play with it and find a good income from this just as soon as winter gets over. I made money from both, but nothing huge(Although the return on investment was good because those signs are cheap and I made them myself. With the domains, my investment was probably $40 tops). I really just tried a few designs and made a few signs and stuck them up. I don't know the exact number, but I made close to $200 with the 20 or so signs I made. However, I think that the right niche could be scaled up and work out nice. Just a few thoughts on it.

It is an old but tried and true method. You could also try posting ads in supermarkets and also using flyers in phone boxes also will work. You can also paste on street poles in fact anywhere that gets traffic. In UK nearly every phone box has business cards and flyers for Escort and dating services. Also try to place the ads in areas where the traffic may be interested in your offer eg near schools for student loans outside factories for payday loans etc etc. You could also put a sign on your car in fact anywhere people see it will work. Leave a few in restrooms near condom machines they will get torn down but just replace them. If only a web address it hard to find who posting them. It interesting only now persons are starting to use grass roots offline promotion to drive traffic to web etc Also cheap ads in local free papers work well There are hundreds of ways offline to promote online business GOOD LUCK

This type of advertising can make cash. When gas prices were high, I had stickers printed with a logo and url to a free gas card offer. Placed these stickers on gas pumps and made a killing.

If you want to go backyard cheap on the signs,and intend to place many of them,design it, and get a silkscreen made at at print shop or learn how to make your own and screen them your self.

One color ink is all you need.
You could also make a stencil and spray paint them.
Hand cut your master stencil on sturdy plastic and make a bazillion signs for dirt cheap cost of the paint after plasticor investment then you can go apeshit and place them all over america

Find a local supplier for Plasticor corrugated boards and print on them.
