Maker Studios Offerred me a Contract

I don't see any real benefit other than they handle the account. This is important if you are constantly victim of illegal ads click that may result adsense ban.

So if you're already a FULL branded partner with youtube is there any benefit to joining Maker?

I'm partnered via Maker studio. Only thing I got from them is the partner facility and nothing to help my channel, that includes no new subscribers, views, promotion. End of the month they take their commission and give the rest promptly.

Still I got what I wanted.

But what about the CPM? From what I read, in theory Maker Studios should run private ad campaign that should make your CPM skyrocket.

Or is that just propaganda to make you sign with them instead others?

Maker, Machinima and FullScreen (and other big networks) run private AD campaigns, so that mean that they hunt advertisers from themselves, guaranteeing them to get quality views from their selected network. That means they can ask for higher prices (I dunno if they can skip google adsense fees entirely, although I doubt since they are still a YT network), thus an higher CPM for their Youtubers.

This is in theory. I'm still trying to understand that if this happens concretely.

If you're not able to partner with YouTube directly, I'd say it is worth partnering with Maker because you'll receive the benefit of custom thumbnails, channel customization,

This is also correct. Most of the networks do a much better job than YouTube of organizing and packaging their channels. I can say with 100% certainty since I did most of this work at Maker that a small gaming channel is packaged together with people like BlueXephos, HuskyStarcraft, etc and when we use the name of the big channels to sell deals that the smaller ones benefit because they are included in the packages. This is also happening constantly. Basically this is the current strategy for most of the networks.

I would also echo everyone giving the advice to negotiate (not just with Maker but with everyone). Its important that content creators stay well informed in order for the networks to be kept honest. Its totally okay to question these people and be skeptical.

Contact big youtube stars and ask them to feature you, if they check you out and like you.You never know.

I'm an exec at Maker Studios.

I did an AMA on reddit (Can't link to it because I just created the account, sorry!) that answers some of your questions. Thanks to those of you who have applied to join us or have shown interest.

I would like to echo the sentiment on this thread. Whenever you are offered a contract from a network you should always make sure that they have a sufficient plan to help you. Check with the person reaching out and ask what specific things they have in mind for you. If what they offer sounds like a good fit, move forward. If the offer doesn't sound like something that can help you, tell them and see if they can change their plan or move on to someone else.

I will also mention that we have sales in place that affects every channel that joins. We get pretty sizable media buys that we spread out to every channel who fits that advertiser.

Additionally, we have dedicated people who work with you. If you are being recruited by TGS or Maker, that means you will be managed for as long as you are with Maker by a dedicated person.

Makers, and I imagine, all other networks out there, are the worst deal ever. They do not help you with anything, no help in getting views, no help in collaboration, zero help, but they take 40 percent of your money and that is it. DO NOT JOIN ANY NETWORK. BIG MISTAKE EVER. I am signed up with makers right now and counting the days for the last day of my contract. if you need any info, I am open available to answer your questions and try to keep the people away from this crap network.
