Dude this is super cool. I've been doing SEO for awhile but have gotten fed up wit hit basically from Google bullshit. I def want to get into affiliate marketing and media buys.

Couple questions

If on a small budget, what's the best way to start testing? PPC and Social?
How do you go about finding an affiliate product that is profitable?
How do you identify media buy sources that will be profitable?

Also how did your adsense sites last on the latest update?

Post Four - Extending Your Media Buy Dollar with Social Media

We all know the power of social media, especially if you happen to get something to go viral. In our projects we have integrated social media into our Media Buy campaigns. Typically what we see is that for every LIKE, we'll drive 4 unique visitors to the site from FB. This is from that LIKE displaying in other individuals news feed. If the concept is new, or the page has some 'viral' capabilities you can see 12+ uniques per like.

You have your Banner AD that pushes traffic to a Landing Page whose purpose is to build a list, build trust, qualify the user for your offer, etc, etc. The only thing we do differently with social media integration is:

Our Landing Page requires the individual to LIKE US to perform any type of action. We don't use click-jacking to force the like, imagine almost like a content locker, for Liking. So now, the individual comes to the page, if they want the Incentive on the landing page they have to Like Us. If they don't and they go to exit the page, we'll prompt a pop-up that allows them to get around the LIKE, and get the incentive. After all, we want their name and email in the end.

This has worked very successfully to reduce CPC costs on traffic with media Buys. Say I'm getting a $.24 CPC, utilizing the Like Button within our media buy campaigns I can reduce the CPC to around $.06-$.12, allowing me more room for natural profit.

Do you use a popup for the like content lock or is this just a simple button on the LP that redirects to the offer page?

You were saying at the beginning that niche sites also contribute to your six figure revenue. You seem to be a PRO in the field, so I have to ask this given the most recent EMD update from Google. Did you notice a significant decrease in AdSense revenue / SERPs? There are a lot of authorities (i.e. pregnancy, cars) that went down the drain, for the first week at least. Obviously, this meant losing money each day even though they were pure white hat.

Google destroyed a good chunk of my SEO portfolio. I lost about 38% of my EMDs, about 8% of my authority sites. In regards to actual income via CPC. It has been jumping, right after panda and penguin I actually saw an increase as people migrated to GA to buy keywords, however, in the most recent months they are still about the same averages I was getting +- $.15

Thanks for the reply! I guess that you can hardly find someone who was not seriously hit by Google, talking about both EMD and authority properties. Damn, 38% plus the authority is quite a big chunk...
