can i install Vmware on My VPS ?

I was wondering , If it is ok to install VMware on Windows VPS and run different Operating system on it .

I currently have windies 2008 server installed on my Window Vps and I want to run Windows XP in Vmware .

i think you can do anything on your vps. But unless you have a very good configuration vps, you shouldnt install such heavy softwares on it. My suggestion, that is.

For instance I buy vps specifically to install virtual machines on it. IF unsure about your specific plan just shoot and email to the support team of your vps

No. Your VPS is on VMWare and you can't install VMWare on an already VMWare-enabled machine. VMWare doesn't work that way. If you want to install VMWare, get a dedicated server instead of a VPS.

Yes that's true, most of the time your VPS is itself is a virtual machine running on a server. It won't be easy to run another VM in a VM (VPS) unless it has high configuration and normally it will not be allowed considering the CPU & RAM usage. But you can do this in your dedicated server though.

Thats not correct mate. Even though a VPS is by itself a virtualized machine but you can still install VMware on it.

No you can't install VMware on virtualised VPS. Its not possible as the virtual CPU on VPS can't be virtualised again.
