GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

i have spent a bit of time going through the verified links and found this problem is actually quite widespread for me, the engines i have found it affecting are: phpfox, oxwall, jcow, article script, buddypress, drupal - blog (then i gave up after this many), the vbulletin - blog engine is working as expected.

the link i am including as the in content link (inside the spun article) is <a href="%url_domain%">%anchor_text%</a>

the engines above seem to be coverting my link into an inner url link on their domain, some examples:
- theirdomain.com/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/blogs/user/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/edobook/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/123456/myarticletitle/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/groups/myarticletitle/mydomain.com

this is basically rendering all the in content links as useless and all those above url types are leading to 404 pages on the relevant sites.

after checking the source code of those pages, i think i have found the problem, it seems to be a problem with the %url_domain% variable only providing the 'domain.com' with no http:.. ect., maybe this is meant to be that way, im not sure, the manual says '%url_domain% = just the domain name of your url', i expected this would be a fully qualified domain name link and have been using this variable since they were brought up in this thread (from memory, i think i used ur example as the link).

so i am not sure if this variable is operating correctly or not (maybe u can ask sven if he meant it this way?), in the meantime, can anyone confirm which variable u are using in ur articles (%url%, %WEBSITE%.. another?) and that they are indeed being placed correctly within the articles?

for anyone else using variables in ur articles, u might want to check which variable u are using now to ensure u get the proper links placed. i now have to figure out what to do with the 10,000's of articles i have built that are all not including the in content link now :-/

edit: just to confirm as well, the test function never shows this variable correctly, it still shows as <a href="%url_domain%"> in the test example, i just took it on faith (silly me) that it was working correctly/as expected, maybe this needs to be fixed to show the correct information used?

after testing with the other variables, it looks like %url% displays the fully qualified url and displays correctly in the test window, %WEBSITE% displays as <a href="%url%"> in the test window, so no idea if this works or not too

Sven has always said to use <a href=%url%>%anchor_text%</a> as the token. That should work fine and give you the fool URL's.

i have one question, can u implement a feature to change all emails + settings on all projects at the same time? i have over 80 projects and to change the emails on all, step by step, it's very very time consuming :/

This has been requested quite a bit and Sven is well aware of it. I'm not sure what his plans are for this yet.

add please statistic after index checking, like: 15 indexed, 65 non indexed

Good idea. I'll send the request.

never mind :)

I see this got answered on the other forum. :)

4.37 - new: article engine YAD added (Thanks to Ozz)
- new: "article script" engine improved
- new: ability to use tags in spin syntax like
Article Title: {#TAG1 title1|#TAG2 title2|#TAG3 title3}
Article: {#TAG1 content1|#TAG2 content2|#TAG3 content3}
With this syntax you will always submit articleX with contentX
and not mix titles with content (e.g. title1 with content2).
- new: ability to unselect URLs in "Show URLs" dialog by Mask
- new: ability to save failed sites to site lists
- new: "click to count" label to count keywords used in project
- fix: minor problem on reverification fixed
- new: improved email parsing
- new: option to skip sites with a PR above a certain setting
This makes it possible to e.g. have two projects for one site and use e.g. custom mode
for high PR sites to enter the data manuualy while submission while low PR sites are
handled by the other project.

Can you tell me that why is such great fluctuation in thread count? I set my threads to 200 and for sometimes it damn fast and it stays around 200 but then after sometime the software dies and goes to 1 or 0 thread..Why is that happening? Its in submission mode BTW not in verifying so it should be fast and use all threads right?

I tried the trial and didn't even wait for it to finsh before getting my license!

I bought the GSA ranking tool as well and have it runnning 24/7 on a vm machine on my server at home, the band width isn't great but i'm getting good steady stream of high quality links to my projects. Being new to seo I was using the settings out of the box and still gave me good results. Recently I invested in some more tools like UCS and CS now getting even better results.

One of things that continually blows me away is the updates, it seems that its updated almost everyday with more and more features.

If you are sitting on the fence on this one, GET OFF IT and buy it you wont be disappointed, I promise you that.
Might take your advice.

Hi guys,

i would like to know how much do you spent in captcha services per project, using all the available resources of GSA lets say per week for exemple using with CS and without CS so i can understand if CS worths to bought and also to have in mind the weight of captcha costs.

thanks,
morg

Put it this way - CS crashed on both my dedi and home PC but GSA kept on running for somewhere near 24 hours. Cost me over $100 from my DBC balance... :)
With CS running on both machines it would have been nearer $20 for that period of time.

bought the software, love it! probably the best deal in the history of IM...however. I made one post on the forum got absolutely reamed by sven which seems to be the main guy and another for not using "proper punctuation" lol! was called names and insulted, isnt the point of a support forum to ask questions? if i knew exactly what to do i wouldnt be asking a question would i haha...seriously that was one of the most unpleasant forum experiences ive ever had. so yeah software great. forum not so much.

Sorry to hear that.

..........

I started to write a long message about my motivation but after reading it, it sounded to sappy so I deleted it. To sum it up quick:

- I'm 37 with arthritis in my lower back from working construction all my life
- I have 4 beautiful children who deserve the best life can give them
- There is no way in hell that I want my kids to go through what I have gone through in life to make money

I have made, at one point in my life from one simple website in I think it was the year of 2005, over a million dollars and used that to start my own construction company that I though would be good to leave for my kids.

If I would have only kept going with my online biz, today would be a WAY different story.

Well anyways, I will get there again and trust me my friends, I will be bigger and badder than ever. So all you other BHW members that are making a real great income right now, I'm coming to join the club AGAIN, only this time you will know who I am!

If your looking for the motivation to continue with your online biz, all I can say is this:

Do you want to work hard all your life and break your freaking back like I did to leave your kids nothing but a memory of yourself, or do you want to create a legacy for your kids so they can choose what they want to be in the future because money is no object for them?

Internet marketing is one of the best ways to make a living online, yes even with all the Panda, Penguin, EMD, ETC updates that Google releases.

Treat it as a REAL job, do what you need to do, reverse engineer the top ranking sites and find out WHY they rank better than you and make your site better.

Making money anywhere is a job, and internet marketing is no exception.

Treat it real, go to work every day, do your research, don't get lazy and the income will follow.

There are a lot of variables that effect this. Having enough search engines, keywords and other things. Sven always said in the past that the only way it could really max out the threads you have set was if you're importing your own list. He has tweaked the threads to be more efficient but the threads do fluctuate. You might be able to bring threads up more constantly by lowering the team between search engine queries. You will have to make sure you have enough search engines selected and proxies as well.

Wow $100 from DBC in 24 hours? That would mean you would have had at least 70,000 captcha solves in 24 hours. That is highly unlikely unless you have a pretty insane setup.

I just checked the thread and you were never insulted by anyone and nobody called you any names so that is a false. As a matter of fact there are members there that gave you great advice.

You titled your thread, "SERP drop since GSA usage?" and it seems you wanted some tips on how to use GSA SER effectively. I'm not sure why you'd name your thread that and then just ask for SEO advice ... It's a bit misleading.

I don't see anything wrong with your thread. The only thing is your post was a big block of text that ran together so people said to format it properly so its more readable. Its hard to read and give advice to someone when its all clumped together like that.

No big deal really ... It's the internet, you can't be that sensitive. :)

Hi,
I'm looking to get GSA but I'm considering if I should get it on a VPS or on my own PC, so I have a couple questions about this;
1. Is GSA a very heavy program to run? In other words does it take up alot of my internet connection when I run it on my own PC?
2. Do most people run it on their VPS or own pc?
3. Are there any vps providers out there with GSA pre installed?
4. Are proxies recomanded for this software? If so how many? And can they be shared proxies?

Edit: I guess the answer kind of depends on how many projects I want to run and how many links I want to get per day. So to give you some more information, Im looking to do the same thing this guy is doing ( http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...t-top-1-position-without-costing-me-dime.html ).

Build first tier: 33 backlinks per day
- PR +3
- D0 f0llow only
- Only on article, bookmarks and social network platforms

Build second tier: 333 backlinks per day
- PR +1
- Every platforms except guestbooks & image comments

Build third tier: 1111 backlinks per day
- All PR
- All platforms

So if I want to archieve these results. Do I have to run GSA 24 hours a day ( and get a VPS ) or can I just run GSA for a couple of hours per day on my own pc and still get the desired amount of backlinks per day?

yes it wasnt me that was sensitive it was them haha. you sure have some devoted hardcore backers of this product thats for sure, they are like a cult "how dare you insult ser" lol i was not bashing i was tired as heck and typed it as fast as i can so it came out as one long ramble. i simply wasnt and still am not using it to its potential, but its trial and error ya know. just wished people wouldnt have been so harsh about it thats all, and i wish i would have gotten a concise clear answer. im almost afraid to post anything ever again now in fear of people misinterpreting it as slander :)

1) That depends on the amount of threads you're trying to run the software at. There are a lot of people that do run it on their home computer just fine. A VPS is great for if you want to run it 24/7 and don't want to be using up your bandwidth or computer resources.

2) It's a solid mix but I'd say for most serious marketers/SEO's, they'll have a VPS but there are plenty of people that will run the software on their home PC.

3) Nope. This isn't allowed as far I know unless they bought a license for each VPS.

4) I'd say at least 10 proxies but 20 would be even better. There are users that run shared proxies (including myself) that seem to work just fine if you buy them from a good provider.

At the end of the day getting a VPS and the number of proxies you get is determined by your budget. If you have the extra cash to spend on these things, then go for it, but if it's going to break the bank, keep things to a minimum.

Ya man it's not a big deal. Just a tip for the future. If you have a bunch of questions it's a lot easier for people to answer them if you put them in a format like this:

1) Question 1

2) Question 2

3) etc.

This way users don't have to go back through the paragraph and try to pick out the questions 1 by 1. It's a lot easier to answer questions if you list them out.

Question on importing tier 1 URLs that I wanted promoted (creating 2nd tier backlinks to 1st tier) - so in the project data menu - you click the "edit button" next to the URL box - and then click on "Import" to either import from a file or clipbard - and so I import over 20 tier 1 links...

My question is- how does GSA treat the backlinking process here? as opposed to creating a separate project for each first tier link? (which would be cumbersome to duplicate many projects and then re-enter each and every link)... Does GSA give equal weight to each and every link that is imported- which I'm not sure it does...

Or is there another strategy/process to accomplish this?

It rotates through the URL's and builds links to them. Because it scrapes from the search engines and doesn't know which site will be a successful submission and which ones won't, it's impossible to give a perfectly even number of links. If you leave the campaign running for a while and it builds a decent amount of links, there should be some good distribution between the URL's.

This is wrong, i'll say this again, the reason GSA being so extremely damn slow and threadcount and PC/network activity dropping to zero, is because there is a massive bug with the software.

I NEVER use search engines, i only import my own list, this bug has been in forever and it is not likely ever to get fixed, the same deal with projects randomly going inactive when having multiple projects, the excuse for this was "it is using to much memory", obviously nonsense, as GSA was using 500ish MB only.

I emailed about this multiple times, months ago, it was never fixed, for this reason i don't feel extremely motivated to go and post on their forum about this general slowness bug either, as it is unlikely to ever be dealt with.

It's a shame really, as GSA could be SO much better, if only it had speed, (and projects not going idle..), right now, in the niches i play, xrumer is the only option, with GSA and it's low volume, it is unable to rank anything that matters. If you're into easy/medium stuff, have fun. But competative stuff? Keep dreaming.

does anyone know the format for adding a blacklist of domains to SER? i want to add a list of my domains to stop SER from hitting my sites and looking to post (lol @ that! :P ), but after looking at the current blacklists SER supports, every one of them is in a different format and everything i try results in 0 urls imported :-/

On windows XP, GSA version 4.36 works (with the normal bugs ofc), Version 4.37 works for +/- 3 mins, then hangs and sticks at 70% cpu usage, to never do anything again.

[edit]
nvm 4.36 does the same.

Back to testing YET another OS.

Did anyone notice there's something wrong with GSA SER's latest update?

I was letting it run before I left home. When I re-logged in to my VPS to check out its progress, I realize GSA SER was closed without any error messages or anything. I launch it again and let it run... in less than 15 minutes or so, the application 'disappeared'.
