GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

The reviews are incredible. This looks like an amazing software.

Two quick questions:
1. Would you recommend blasting a 6 years old domain (money site ) or better use it for tyre 1,2 ... ?
2. Would 10 p. proxies would be enough ?

1) That is completely up to you. If you want to be cautious, you can start slow and use it for tier 1 & 2 then move up from there.
2) That's definitely a good start. Its hard to say whether that's enough without knowing how many threads you're planning on running, etc. I'd say 10 would be a pretty good start for a lot of people.

I've been away for a month and when running GSA I get a lot of "verification failed/timeout" - what does it mean? My HTML timeout is set to 180 and custom wait to 10 sec with 50 threads

Verification failed = Link not found. This is normal but make sure that you're also updated to 4.35 because Sven found a bug in the verification and fixed it in the last version.

What is the best email provider to use with GSA. I use hotmail now, anything better ?

Awesome. Glad to have ya.

I use hotmail too. I've seen a lot of people talking about setting up catchall email with the software. I haven't done this myself yet because hotmail has been working fine for me but it might be something worth looking into. There's some talk about it on the other forum.

Catch all was something I just thought've one day and figured why can't it apply to GSA. And it can very well actually. It's for right now the best solution to getting past all the email crap. Very easy to setup with hostgator etc. but if your with a company like blue host well you are out of luck since they don't do catch all email address :/

4.36 - new: guestbook engine "Felix Riesterer"
- new: scheduler to run a certain number of projects at a specific date/time for a set number
of minutes and switch to other projects (click arrow next to start button to access it)
- new: PR checking improved

With this new update things seem to be a lot better, with just a couple of hours I got almost 300% more submissions than in 2 days on the exact same project. Success rate has also increased a lot.

(I'm using the demo)

I got GSA to post a comment on a blog. The blog post has a PR5 and more than 100 commentaries... I was like, "oh no... a spammed to hell blogpost" and when I paid attention I see there is ZERO spam on those commentaries, they are all within the blogpost subject (politics) and having a discussion about the subject. My comment is the only one with a link on the author name :D

You gotta love this :D

im not sure if this is just me doing something wrong or just the way it is, but just wondering if anyone has found a way for in content links to stay pointed at the specified url?

what i have found is that with many sites that support in content links, the site itself is accepting the article but changing the in content link to point to a non existent page on their own site (for example www.theirsite.com/something/mydomain.com, which is a non existent page), leaving the only the link to my target url in the footer note.

anyone find a way around this?

Last update made GSA again shitloads slower, this software is becoming increasingly unreliable when from one update to the other you suddenly have 600% (yes, not kidding) more verified urls, and the next day another untested update comes, which makes it crawl at snails speed.

Also, just one of the bugs, but one thats just so easy to fix, yet has been in forever, "skip sites with more than "x" outgoing links" has never worked properly, come on guys, how hard is it to count the amount of external links on a page ><

Im getting verified posts on crappy wordpress blogs with 10K+ outbound links (while it is supposed to be filtering these out) that are being berified as DRUPAL blogposts....go figure.

Oh, and you can always install an older version of SER. In your GSA directory is a file called "Search_Engine_Ranker_old.exe" you can install. Furthermore I advice you to make a backup copy of working versions as a fallback solution for the case you feel that something is wrong with the current release.

You have any samples of this? I've hit a lot of contextual links and haven't noticed this. I'd like to see which platform this is coming from.

How about to post your problems in the developer forum? Don't you think that this would be more crowned with success when you describe the bugs to the developer himself?

lol I've said that numerous times. It makes no sense to me either.

Sometimes posting on here you might get help from others who are browsing here, rather than there.
Thats why I have posted here with problems in the past.
Because Sven has a forum, dont mean everybody who owns and runs gsa, reads it

To me it makes more sense to discuss such specific problems with the developer himself. I have no problem with doubleposting in both forums though if you feel that you get good advices.

i have spent a bit of time going through the verified links and found this problem is actually quite widespread for me, the engines i have found it affecting are: phpfox, oxwall, jcow, article script, buddypress, drupal - blog (then i gave up after this many), the vbulletin - blog engine is working as expected.

the link i am including as the in content link (inside the spun article) is <a href="%url_domain%">%anchor_text%</a>

the engines above seem to be coverting my link into an inner url link on their domain, some examples:
- theirdomain.com/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/blogs/user/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/edobook/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/123456/myarticletitle/mydomain.com
- theirdomain.com/groups/myarticletitle/mydomain.com

this is basically rendering all the in content links as useless and all those above url types are leading to 404 pages on the relevant sites.

after checking the source code of those pages, i think i have found the problem, it seems to be a problem with the %url_domain% variable only providing the 'domain.com' with no http:.. ect., maybe this is meant to be that way, im not sure, the manual says '%url_domain% = just the domain name of your url', i expected this would be a fully qualified domain name link and have been using this variable since they were brought up in this thread (from memory, i think i used ur example as the link).

so i am not sure if this variable is operating correctly or not (maybe u can ask sven if he meant it this way?), in the meantime, can anyone confirm which variable u are using in ur articles (%url%, %WEBSITE%.. another?) and that they are indeed being placed correctly within the articles?

for anyone else using variables in ur articles, u might want to check which variable u are using now to ensure u get the proper links placed. i now have to figure out what to do with the 10,000's of articles i have built that are all not including the in content link now :-/

edit: just to confirm as well, the test function never shows this variable correctly, it still shows as <a href="%url_domain%"> in the test example, i just took it on faith (silly me) that it was working correctly/as expected, maybe this needs to be fixed to show the correct information used?

after testing with the other variables, it looks like %url% displays the fully qualified url and displays correctly in the test window, %WEBSITE% displays as <a href="%url%"> in the test window, so no idea if this works or not too

i have one question, can u implement a feature to change all emails + settings on all projects at the same time? i have over 80 projects and to change the emails on all, step by step, it's very very time consuming :/

This times 100. It keeps getting requested over and over again but Sven has yet to implement it. Can you please see what you can do?

add please statistic after index checking, like: 15 indexed, 65 non indexed
