And my response to that was that the water we 're talking about has a variable amount of salt depending on its volume

Since I did not assume this at all, I simply restated my hypothesis so you would see that for yourself. I don't understand why that was wrong.

This is too simplistic. I don't mean to offend you. I haven't stated this at all.

This is simplistic because it ignores many variables.

However, what you actually said was this:

It's too easy to say there were less people (we're still talking millions, of course) and the majority of users were of a demographic that are known to be friendly (which demographic would that be exactly?) but the argument is spurious.

Now . . .

If you would have applied that hypothesis to a group of 5 people who were known philanthropists and inclined to be friendly and altruistic, we could say that the demographic and volume was likely to display a higher level of friendliness than our impression of the average user on the internet today.

But that's not the case.

Even a decade ago, or more, there were millions of internet users, represented by pretty much every demographic known to civilization.

I was giving some reasons why I love my country. There are more. It's an odd thing to be defensive about. If someone from Canada or another free country gave the same reasons that I did, I would cheer them on and feel happy for them.

I may have got it all wrong but it's the inherent implication that I dislike. Why would you say 'I love America coz we have freedom here' unless you thought there is no freedom elsewhere? The implication is kinda obvious, don't you think?

Wow! I guess there aren't many people here from the U.S. I had my suspicions that most people in other countries hated us, but now I know it. Lol. It really boils down to this: People are either #hitty or they aren't. Speaking of Texas: I live in San Antonio, and I love it here. The economy is doing pretty good, and housing/cost-of-living is dirt cheap compared to practically anywhere else in the country - especially NY or LA!!! I guess there's no place like home, no matter where you come from.

There ARE some countries that don't have the same freedoms I do. That is a fact. I cherish the freedoms that I have and celebrate with other countries that are also free. As I said before, if someone from Canada or another free country listed the same reasons that I did, I would give them a "Yeah!" and be happy right along with them. It's an odd thing to be defensive about.

I lived in the US, a few EU and Asian countries and no country is perfect objectively. Ultimately, you just need to find the place where you most feel comfortable, for you, yourself, you you you and not care about what people/family/friends/newspapers/reports/surveys say about your chosen place. As simple as that Believe me, I am fucking happy in a country where I never thought I would actually call home.
