I just bought three domains last week in order to promote my money site. The money site is quite popular and it gets 5,000 per day.

The problem is that it only ranks well for some important keywords and not for others.

So I bought some EMD's for the keywords the money site doesn't rank for. For example:

keyword-one.com
keyword-two.com

The idea was to optimized the two EMD's, rank them and then use them to back link to my money site.

keyword-one.com >>>
keyword-two.com >>> money-site.com

Should I scrap this plan because of the EMD update?

I think you shouldn't scrap your plan altogether - What hits EMDs is over optimization of anchortexts and having shitty content. So, get some legit and readable articles and don't over-optimize your anchortext and you'll do fine.

I really don't believe that Google's latest update has done anything new. For the last few months, the search engine has been trying to come up with better search results for its users. If an EMD was over-optimized on-page and filled with bad content, it had to suffer one day or the other.

Coming to your plan, it looks solid, as long as you follow the "quality over quantity" route.

Thanks for the response. The original plan was to pay for some quality articles so the content should be good. I will make sure not to over optimize anchor text too.

Don't base your 'money' site on some EMDs man. If you want to create some smaller network for your site, take related domain names not only EMDs. No 'real' site will receive links from the homepage of EMDs of longterms only :)

Stick to the original plan. It looks solid as long as you can execute the same. Another thing that you must remember: It is not only important to produce high-quality articles, but, make them as long as possible (You should not add fluff, stick to solid information only), add relevant pictures with alt text being your main keyword and LSI keywords sometimes as well. For avoiding high bounce rates, add videos as well. I know this works!

Don't scrap your plans. Just add quality content. You're not going to get penalized SOLELY for having an EMD. People are getting penalized for having crap content on their EMD's.

What do you mean by networks?

Would this be 5-10 sites spread across a few servers that link between each other and then link back to my money site?
