Yes, I know it's inexpensive to host a Wordpress blog, or something similar on a paid for domain, but... I was just wondering how hard it was to rank a Blogger site, using the same techniques.
I will probably get a domain eventually, but just wondering if it's possible and how much more difficult it would be.

Thanks,

I never had success with them even on kwds with no competition, I have seen them rank well but those blogs had hundreds of article and thousands of backlinks. Go with wordpress or tumblr instead, they rank much better.

What most business-men will do, is take out a form of loan (Short-term loans usually) to begin their business ventures, if money is your problem, consider taking out a loan in order to start your ventures.

ranking = backlink/offpage SEO
to rank your site, backlink is the answer
easy or not depend on keyword
i already ask the same question before.. and the answer is still the same ^^

try to build site on your domain and then link build from blogger and wordpress.com

One of my blogspot blogs have the lowest postions as 10-11 and the highests on 2-3, so in my mind its all about the keyword and the competion

Well i have an authority site which is blogspot. It is ranking for hundreds of keywords and making less than $10 daily.So it is possible to rank a blogger site.Like someone said above, you need lots of contents and backlinks. But it is def. possible.

It would be so much easier if I wasn't so damn broke! :)

Wouldn't that apply to most of us here, man!! Funny though!

I will disagree with those who on the onset say that Blogger blogs suck. Common, they are Google's property. It's just people take them for granted as they are free and so easy to start. I say, you start with a lot of content. And hey, you can have your custom domain pointing to a Blogger blog, in case you are worried about the blogger.com subdomain.

Good luck. Just go do it rather than thinking too much.

Blogger blogs are not optimized for SEO as wordpress to get around this is to create Youtube videos because they rank high in Google and put links from your video to your Blogger blogs in the description.
