templates in Dreamweaver are too much work!

hey guys,

I'm trying to use ready made templates ....they seem easy, at first glance, but as I try to use them as suggested, which is essentially making changes to to the obvious text or img's.......

it's anything but a picnic............I spent hours and hours and hour and hours, and all I accomplished was 2 image changes to the original template?

I'm way behind the learning curve.....even spent time on youtube vids, but none so specific...........

I'm dying on the vine............................

does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm doing something way wrong! .......any suggestions to an overall approachor directive?.........at my current pace it will be 2010 before I complete a site.... no exaggeration...the idea of
"drag and drop" with scrippts and codes and divs within ready templates, it's almost a joke.....

What am I doing wrong? or what am I not factoring in?

I have spent 3 days and still haven't created anything

Editing things in Dreamweaver is about as easy as they come, you have three different views you look at your template in. Code (The code of the page) Split ( A view of both the code and the actual design) Design ( What your site will look like) If you are seriously having trouble editing things, use the split view, and just find what you want to change on the design tab and find the corresponding code on the split side. Or better yet, highlight the image in the design view and if you look at the bottom, it will give you the specifics of the image, such as it's location,size,link, just simply edit it to your liking and blamo complete. If you are really really having that much trouble with dreamweaver, might I suggest you start with a program that helps you build sites with point and click, and work your way up to html coding. Sorry if this isn't that clear, but I haven't had my coffee yet and just thought I would throw a 2 cents up.

if i can ask a question,...

I'm using live feeds from webcams and Lsawards....

both show up fine on my site, however they time out after 1 to 2 minutes...

I know that when I visit similar sites, after a period of time you may have to refresh or select a "continue" or "sign up later" button, but in my case they just stop and both display a similar "cam1 cam2 cam3 ...etc,.,,."

not very attractive as there are no longer any females visible at all, and just suddenly default to that screen?

any ideas?

simple way is use frame for any diffrent site content
if you have psd file edit ( must have same name of jpg/gif of slice) and safe as image
after that rewrite all images
to make diffrent look

It depends on the way you load the cams, are you embedding video? or are you using object tags?

Copy a example of the code your using to embed the cams here or PM it to me if u dont want it public.

Why not go to y0u*tub3 and type in Dr3am*W3av3r tutorial or something like that and see what comes up. It's easier learning from a video.

Dreamweaver is very easy if you know what each and every button's function.
Try to learn the basics, you will play with dreamweaver.

Well as I continue to use it, it is getting easier. Let me ask a question if I could, crash to your point about embedded or object tags for cams (object tags, didn't know what they were, but just looked it up)I'm using webcams . com live embedded feeds. I'm a nob at site script and creation but it seems like no matter what I do I can only get one feed to display?

I'm just creating a frame, or even a layers...but no luck.....

it's when I try entering the code in multiple locations on the template to be able to create a row of cams for example, they never seem to display. I know this likely speaks to my ignorance with html or site building. Since webcams offers no templates I'm simply copying a copy like this;(I put HALIFAX in place of my affliate code, and replaced "webcams . com" with "NO SITE"

I admit to being a nob when it comes to putting script or sites together. I'm essentially taking the same code and pasting it elsewhere in the template, Or I'll try to request something slightly different example "blondes" or "Brunette" thing maybe I can't have the identical code in the script? I can't seem to get more than one cam to display

any ideas about what I can do to get multiple cams to display?
(I wish they offers rows or columns of cams on need to be able to dial in what I need, but they don't)

I've sent some updated code via PM which should work, however I've not been able to test it as the URL wasn't completed.

Basics are the script shows the cam in the <div id="wa">...</div> and it'll only show once as the names the same
