SEO Powersuite - Am I missing something??

Ok so I'm about to take the plunge and purchase SEO Powersuite, I've been using it lightly for awhile now, and see the potential, especially when it comes to client reporting as I'm in the initial phases of getting a local SEO small business up and running.

However, when it comes to the claims they make on their site about getting you onto the 1st page etc, I call BS. I haven't seen anything yet where the software actually DOES something to create or acquire backlinks.

Am I missing something? To me all the tools so far seem like 'guidance' tools, they offer advice and shortcuts to more time consuming tasks and research, but the software doesn't actually DO anything to boost your site, it just seems to simply tell you what you 'could' do to 'help' improve it.

Don't get me wrong I see the value in what the tools do, but the most important part and most frustrating part, actually getting quality backlinks, there seems to be a huge missing gap here.

There doesn't seem to be anyway to post things, create content, create profiles, etc. Analyzing my competitors and then saying here's what they did now copy it, that is total BS, who knows how they got those backlinks, maybe they knew someone, bought a link, who knows how they got their backlinks, so to me just showing where someone is getting links from does absolutely squat for me as far as getting a backlink from the same source.

I'm looking for experienced users of SEO powersuite to help explain how the software can take a site with say 0-10 backlinks, to 100+ backlinks and cause positive movement in the SERPS

It doesn't 'get' you on page 1, you need to do that yourself, it give you recommendations on what to do with your site. But before plunging, do a search on here for the software. Just a bit of advice.

Like I said, I've been using it for awhile now, where do you think I got it from?

I guess what I'm saying is, I get a report saying Competitor A is getting a backlink from Site 1, so I go visit Site 1 looking for some place to submit my own link or whatever, majority of the time there is no visible way of getting my own site on there also. Sure it gave me a fancy backlink report, but did it give me any feasible way of getting my own site into those backlink sites? Not so much, so like I was asking, what am I missing, is there a different strategy to these tools?

Sorry about the misunderstanding. From my personal experience the software has only been useful for me showing other clients I have built sites for why they need SEO. I am unaware of it doing any backlinking (if it does Im totally missing out) thats where SeNuke comes into play I guess. I would look into purchasing that one. I did and it helped me boost the reports provided.

I'd hold off on purchase at the moment. I have used spyglass and ranktracker for a couple of years now, and ranktracker has really gone to shit lately. Reports that used to take 2 hours now take 15, if they finish at all.
I used to run it with 10 private proxies - now I have to use 15 private and 50 shared to get worse results.
I know the proxy situation is hurting lots of software currently, but it's still not good enough

Just wanted to put my opinion here- Rank Tracker works perfectly fine for me and pretty fast too. I check well over 500 keywords daily and it's quite fast.

SEO power site is a data miner. It doesn't automate anything, because that is black hat. It gives you accurate information to base your seo campaign decisions on, instead of doing whatever everyone else says works or just blasting away with whatever pops into your mind.


I will second that on rank tracker, and if you are using the trial version and noticed it is slow, the registered version is much faster..

care to share some settings? - I've been using it for years without changing much, then about 2 months ago it started to get annoyingly slow

I check about 200 k/w accross G, B, Y and and about 4 regional G's - currently taking about 15 or 16 hours to complete checking the top 100

I've turned it down to 30 and set tasks to 3 and now it only takes 3-4 hours - which is still damn slow

Most of the time, rank tracker works fast but it always takes so long to check the last 2 keywords i usually end up pressing the STOP button. Not sure why it happens everytime. Im only checking 9 keywords and the last two is still checking after 15min so i stop the damn thing.

I've just started using SEO power suite , So I'm not really in expert at it yet but I find it to be pretty fast. There are times though when it takes hours just to check a few backlinks and it crashes from time to time but thats all software.
