301 redirect from expired domains

Hi,

I'm trying to rank my website for a commercial competitive keyword. On the first and second website (my competitors) for this keyword there is a dead link on the homepage. These dead links refer to expired domains.

Will it help to buy these 2 domains and redirect them to my website ? I'm pretty sure they won't notice it because they're not checking dead links so the link could stay on their homepages for a long time.

Indeed i was very surprise to find expired domains on the homepage of my 2 main competitors ^^ I'll do it, i'll report my results on this thread.

What a great idea.. I doubt you'll see that happen very often, take it while it's there.

Just be careful - if they were previously penalized, they will transfer the penalty to new domain eventually.

I just tried on an other keyword and I also found expired domains ! However I was not so lucky because their rankings were around 5-8 position.
My conclusion : it costs nothing to check, we just need scrapebox to find competitors on the first page for some keywords then Xenu to check for expired domains

I bought the two domains, i'll report the results in this thread.
