Illustrator all the way.

Reason you want Illustrator is because you want the logo to stay in vector form.
You want it to stay in vector form is because a vector graphic is based on a equation, and in short, can be enlarged to any size without losing quality.

With photoshop, you will design it and save it, and 99.9% it will be a picture that can't be resized, and if it is resized it will lose quality and become blurry/pixalted.

Best practice?

Create logo in Illustrator, and transfer it to Photoshop later as an .AI/.EPS file

For professional eBooks OR books that will be published, InDesign is the standard.

You can't compare raster images and vectors.
Raster Image = Human Face
Vector = Logo

You can use both vector/raster for both print/digital.

For digital, make sure your DPI is set to 72.
For printing, make sure your DPI is between 250-300

How do you find clients/work?

It is actually very easy, and I don't know why people don't do it.
Here is two rules of success on finding clients

1. Never share all your information

From where are all those great images procured by the theme and template makers (small timers as well as the big production houses)? Surely they are not purchasing the extended licenses (needed to do mass selling), at least not all those theme makers can afford those huge extended license fees...

So, is there a legal source, low cost ofc, for their images (you may have this "inside" information for sure ) they have to procure for their themes? So if you know, please give some details about those resources. Thanks!

what are some rules you use when creating websites. spacing, colors, clean vs clutter etc. I find alot of graphic designs have their own little rules they live by when they design.

Wanna be a professional logo designer ,
I know photoshop well (Said by my Friends),
a little knowledge on illustrator ,but I can't find any tutorial or professional guide line on logo design,
more over ,some times my logo (designed by PS) cant's shine or lost their professional look after embedding on web page.
What can I do now please give me suggestion.

I learnt what I can do in graphic design and application development for OSX purely by enjoying what I do - if you enjoy what you do - when you reach a problem you find the solution, and you learn this way. Through repeating the same action again you learn.. and you won't forget it!
Of course I had a look at some tutorials years ago but for me the best way to learn is to experience it yourself, play around and have fun.

Logo Design is what I do mostly and whole heartily agree with your answer on Illustrator vs Photoshop. I don't think Illustrator is only the way to create a good logo. you can create a vector logo using Ps and export it to Ai in vector format it depend on the designer which application he can work fast..

I have the monthly subscription for Adobe Illustrator. The option to do a custom live trace is not accessible. (greyed out and not click-able) Is this an option in the full version only?
