Hello,

can anybody recommend a good e-commerce plugin for wordpress? i get a good deal on a brand of clothes that i would like to sell online. let me know please!

I would honestly recommend using a real ecommerce script such as magento. However if you really wanna use WP, try out some of the templatic themes. They have everything built in for ecommerce

the cost for a design in magento is kind of too high for my budget right now.

There is no better recommendation then looking into wordpress plugin center itself:

wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/e-commerce
wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/ecommerce

While I hate most of the ecommerce plugins for wordpress and would rather tell you to use a real ecommerce such as magento or prestashop, you did mentioned you can't afford a design for it right now.

On the wordpress plugin pages you can view from each item their actual users reviews and how they rated it so I guess that would be the best place for you to find what you are looking for, besides that I would say trial and error to find the one you like the most.

I've tried some in the past but really hated most of it and ended up making my own offsite one.

NO! Dont use wordpress. Wordpress is the shitties e-com CMS. Not meant for it. Go Magento all day every day

Would you guys use a nulled magento script for your e-commerce ?

Go for jigoshop plugin, it works well for e-commerce sites.

Just find a site you like, get your favorite Indian webmaster and have him copy it and make minor tweaks. There is nothing that can compare especially you can get a guy to do this for 200 bucks. How I do each every one of my sites. Now up to ten and they look like I spent 2 grand on em.

You meant having him customize it with magento installed ( nulled ) ?

Never got on with ecommerce in Wordpress...Opencart or Ubercart (drupal) are better in my opinion

Why a nulled version if the community edition is free ? You will hardly need the enterprise edition as a starter and hell no I would never recommend anyone in sane state to use a nulled version OF ANYTHING for a real ecommerce, no matter what the situation is unless you are a damn good developer and nulled it yourself and know all the drawbacks of your own work while nulling it.

Is magento lite enough for a e-commerce site with 300 SKUs?

Yes you can run a LOT more than 300 SKUs using magento, the free community edition does not have a limit for how many products you register, the limits you may encounter will be mainly resources related as in your hosting plan and resources available to your website.

I use OpenCart for all of my ecommerce sites. PM me if you want a copy of a store already operating.
I have a bunch of paid plugins for it too, most importantly a mass-import tool.
