True proxy

i am currently using a proxy service. But I am finding out that its not totaly masking. Here is what I mean
the proxy is located in Europe. When I log into elance in order make an account, it shows my true country. Which is not the same country that my proxy server is located in.
So where do I get a true proxy location.

Contact your proxy provider. Make sure that your HTTPS IPs are truly Fully anonymous proxies (elite).

im not sure about this... but they might get your ip from javascript... try turning off javascript and test if it still shows your real country..

Good point. I also disable flash and silverlight. There's a lot of ways your ip can leak.

This method of fingerprinting bypasses "elite" anon proxies and gives away IP addresses
and OS of the host. Google currently employs a number of tricks to get real IP addresses,
you can run a connection via a proxy and 99% of websites you visit will only get the Proxy IP,
Google has a way of getting IP from User_Agent not sure how but I found this out).

You do need to disable all 3rd-party plugins and prevent cookies from
being passed as they may separately reveal the IP address

contact you proxy provider ask him to to see headers sending with proxy on or off , java disable etc not a good option it can hurt site functionality completely only your proxy provider able to sort it out best of luck

Yes I see Google is asking for captcha for some of my proxies for simple search. Now I don't use my proxies for SB or anything else. They are research only and not on any lists yet Google picks them off and they're completely anonymous.

I think Google doesn't really pick them off but suspects so it fires captcha. I don't think its user-agent but rather IP lookup to see the IP isn't from an ISP. I'll have to do a bit more testing between IPs to see if I can narrow down, but I did notice Google tossing up a captcha for IPs that are fresh and not reported anywhere.

There are many ways your IP can leak, but here's how to narrow this down:

Step 1. Ensure your using the proxy for both HTTP and HTTPS

Step 2. Check how anonymous your proxy is: http://checker.samair.ru/

Step 3. Clean your browser.
Even if the proxy is a high-anonymous (elite) proxy, your browser can leak your country based on data store in previous visits. What's most common is that the site has a "cookie" file stored within your browser.

While you're at it, you should also clear your browser "cache" (maybe there's a file cached from when you accessed the site without a proxy).
CCleaner is a free tool for clearing cookies, cache, and other things in your browser.

Step 4. Disable flash, silverlight, and other browser add-ons.
