What's a "white hat SEO service" in your opinion?

In Google's eyes, any off-site SEO (artificial link building) is black hat, so if you're looking to be "safe" then you're either looking for someone who would optimize your site (on-site SEO - something that you can very easily do yourself) or a PR agency that would get the buzz out there naturally.

EDIT: P.S. Didn't intend to troll your thread by the way. Just wanted to point out the above as you will definitely be approached by tens of "white hat link builders" (which is obviously what they call themselves only for the day to get your business).

Bryanon makes an excellent point. Any sort of link building service is black hat. However, there is a difference between SEO services and if you want everything to appear natural, go with someone who builds links manually. 10,000 SB produced links are pretty obvious, however a bunch of posts on High PR blogs aren't as bad.

I think today most people would consider white hat, if you were to buy ad's on people site
and even pay them too promote you. While blackhat, is going around using software to spam everywhere and everything.
