SEO outsourcing advices

Hello everyone,
I need some advices on how to outsource my SEO campaigns. First of all right now I don't have time to learn how to use the single programs, I'm studying SEO and linkbuilding strategies but can't really focus on the single programs to automate the process. This is the reason why I want to outsource.
I'm not sure how to manage the outsourcing, services offered on this forum looks fine, but seems expensive for multiple campaigns.
Should I hire a virtual assistant? Are they reliable for such a delicate operations like SEO?

The key point to make here, is that there are a lot of ways to go about this, but if you don't have a good grounding in SEO strategy and technique (which mostly comes through personal experience and testing), then you could end up taking some very bad advice and following strategies that will do more harm than good.

VA's are only useful if YOU know what needs to be done - and can teach and manage them effectively. Don't rely on a new VA understanding SEO. You need to be very specific on what needs to be done and how to do it. You will also generally have to supply the SEO tools required (and maybe VPS' to do this through.)

SEO has got a lot more hazardous, as reading this forum will show you. Good results can still be achieved, but it's now more important than ever to tread carefully and test and measure every step of the way. The SEO landscape is changing rapidly at the moment. The fundamentals of massive diversity and variety, coupled with consistency and an understanding of link-velocity should be uppermost for you.

I wouldn't mind to pay a monthly fee, but I don't need to manage a single large campaign, I'm more interested in several smaller campaigns

Triplet, Its a difficult one to answer. I seo for mid size companies and do 100% of the tier one stuff myself and then have a VA do the backlinks to tier one. The reason for this - The VA cannot then screw up my seo and any mistakes made can be fixed. Again I dont really trust anyone to build links directly to my money sites or clients sites as they can screw it up. I have purchased service here, WF and fiverr and have had problems with some of them.


My advice: build your 1st tiers yourself and then get a VA to do the rest...

I would suggest only dealing with reputable SEO business's for outsourcing it's worth the extra cost, contact them directly tell them what you're up to and in the process start learning the ropes yourself to minimize risk in the future. Some things are easier than others and if you can manage to do a few tings yourself it will save in total investment. Your best bet depending on how big you wish to expand is to purchase SEO software (Suggestions: Ultimate Demon, Scrapebox) and also a Windows VPS. You need to learn the software yourself which doesn't take too long then train a virtual assistant to do the work for you. Best bet.

If you online have a few websites, I suggest just finding a few services here on BHW and having them take care of it for you.

No offense, but this is horrible advice for someone that doesn't have a clue of what htey are doing.

I'd recommend taking a look on here for what a standard SEO campaign entails, and either finding vendors that offer those services, or find a company that handles a majority of those type of links.

What do you already know about seo? How are your links structured? Study some of the top rated services here and learn. Finally, apply it yourself with quality and twists and then repeat. Your best bet is to make a fresh site and apply the techniques you learn to it. See how that goes, and then optimize it. Finally, I would say it shouldn't take more than 2 hours a day to keep updated on the current Google changes.

You're treading in dangerous territory, my friend. Every VA you speak to is going to try and convince you that they are gods gift to SEO. Learn how everything works yourself and train VA's personally.

My tip:
Be prepared to micro-manage your outsourcee for the first 2-3 weeks. After they get used to their tasks and are following your instructions perfectly, you can let go more.

Also, work with a company instead of with a freelancer. Freelancers generally care more about themselves than their clients. But with a company your outsourcee has a manager, the manager will ensure quality (and if he doesn"t, ask him to!).

My advice: Keep it in house, use LinkEmperor.com and SEOMoz to build your reports, SEMRush to do your keyword research, and you're going to be fine. Micromanaging is a headache and different timezones will just cause you to pull your hair out of your head.
