Dropped from #1 to page 7. Anyone else?

I am wondering if it is just me or this is a new update?

There is a lot of factors that could have made you drop...

: A penalty
: Dance
: Change of content
: etc...

Have you done any changes in content, added more content... done any backlinking? bought any services recently etc...

Doubt it's an update, i haven't had any of my sites change anywhere and that's across just over 100 sites.

it was an update similar to this big one from may (maybe "famous penguin 2.0 ? ) - some people lost rankings, some jumped , and again some websites were deindexed

Dropped from page 5 to page 17 for a keyword I was targeting (with personal web 2.0 network). I wonder could this be dancing? Will see.
For aqll other keywords for same site or other sites gained places

Honestly no. No content or backlink changes and no information in webmaster tool oddly enough.

I took a beating with penguin on this site and then recovered fairly quickly with some minor content changes and adding the plugin that creates internal links on all pages.

This though... I didnt do anything.

Let's see your website. How's your content looking? Do you have lots of niche relevant posts on what your site is about, or is it a thin affiliate style site designed make sales and capture leads. If it's the latter, I think you have your answer Reason I say this, is you mentioned some onPage SEO modifications made a difference.

The site is a my actual business. Just like that I was back to #1 last night. Fucking weird.. I had built no backlinks done nothing and got dropped to shit on page 7. Usually if you dance there is a reason right? Some of you read my last post wrong. The last changes I made were in the immediate 7 days after Pengion first smacked us all. For a second I thought this may be about my "open letter to matt cutts" I have as a post.

The on page content is tite.. I bought it here. All plugins all that shit.. the only thing I can think of is that maybe there is now a penalty for not updating wordpress right away? IDK..

Very much doubt it would be a penalty for not updating wordpress. There are thousands of sites that use a version thats not been updated. So cross that idea out pal.
