Twist to the $10k/month method.

I have done the original method with success and decided to try a little twist to make things easier for myself.

I'm not the best at explaining things, but just thought id share this idea to help some people here, I'm not sure if this idea is already out there.

The difference in this method is, you won't be targeting companies, so you won't be dealing with receptionists and what not.

Here goes:

I was actually browsing gumtree/craiglist and came across a lot of people wanting work, nearly everyone i called were actually qualified in there field but just got put out of work due to the recession.
Most of them were wanting work in these fields: painting, decorating, gardening , general house work [handyman], removals, carpet cleaning, cleaning work.

Before i even set up a website i made calls to the people seeking work, asking them would they be willing to give me commission from the work they carried out if i supplied them with work, most said yes straight away, other people weren't saying no, they just wanted more information and said they would think about it depending on how many jobs i gave them per week.

The telephone call was along the lines of: Hey, I see your currently seeking work at the moment, I'm in the process of setting up a site that relates to your line of work, would you be interested providing me with a small commission off each job i could get for you?

After this i basically just used the $10k/month method made a website such as 'cityname'handyman.com uploaded a WP theme with a aweber lead form.

I get facebook vouchers and free ads threw bing etc, so my ads are free, so the SEO to me did not matter, im not an expert at SEO anyways, but im sure most of you wont have probs getting traffic if you do the SEO.

I'm currently getting the minimum of 20 jobs/week for workers, from which i would get the minimum of 15 pounds per job, in dollars its roughly $25. Hope this helps.

How are you getting the commission from the laborers? It seems like they are mostly cash contracts. Do you meet them in person to get payment?

Also what if the laborer lies and says the job didn't go thru...

I haven't had a worker lie to me yet, in the case i thought one did, i would call the lead to find out if the job went threw, but would put it in a way as 'How did you find the service with us'? then go by the response of the customer to see if the worker was telling me porkies.

I doubt they would risk lying to you, they know you have the lead's information and your giving them work, which they weren't getting before.

As for commission, i work it threw cash and have them pay into my bank , i suppose you could do invoices etc which could be paid at the end of each week.

Thanks for your response Tradz. I'd be very interested to hear more. How many sites do you have, and how many workers do you have to outsource to under each site?

Have you considered putting a phone number up and taking some inbound calls yourself as well as the lead capture form (or hire someone to take inbound calls)? With the sort of people you are working with there are no shortages of people who could do the work they perform, so I would be reluctant to depend solely on the lead capture form. If I was looking for a painter I would rather talk to someone instantly than leave my details and wait for a call back, so you may be missing out on some customers.

If you were looking to expand into different areas, you can buy numbers with different area codes and get them forwarded to your mobile, or whatever number you choose. This way you can create a presence in London (With your London area code) whilst living in say Birmingham.

Yeah dennis, i will be adding a phone number to do that, i find workers all the time, even threw word of mouth..
I was getting a taxi home having general conversation telling him what i do , he told me he was a painter , he asked me to take his number and be added to my list he was also put out of his job.

I have a few sites 3-5 jobs a week minimum per site really..

I don't go about this a professional way to be honest, i have a note pad, with a list of numbers, sectioned into, painters, handymen, carpet cleaners, removals, cleaners and so on..

Most of the people on the list i haven't called to give jobs, as the 3-5 jobs per site per week i give to the same person for that type of work, to keep them happy and keep them paying me.

Once i get more leads, i will call the next number for that work type and give him 3-5 jobs per week.

It could be done to a larger scale and bring in more money im sure which im going to work on.

UK Jon0, but i didn't do SEO work, just fb ads and bing as i get them for free anyway, im not expert on SEO so didn't go down that route. lol

Facebook & bing, i also printed off business cards, like simple ones.. such as - Need a carpet cleaner? Book one today by visiting .... ill be introducing a phone number into them too..

I would leave the business cards at bus stops, taxi depots ask the occasional shop owner / bar owner if i could leave some on there tables..

i know you said you get a minimum of 15 pounds
what is the commission structure? That is the minimum but is it a percentage of the job or what?
if so what percentage do you use?

I don't use a % or anything, i just depends on the job needing done, i would call the worker and describe the job needing done and ask him, is 15 pounds commission ok for me getting you this job?

It's basically like them buying the leads from me , only difference is they only pay if they do the job required.

If i know myself its a big job, i would ask for a bit more..i don't be greedy with it though.

Also before i started i called around companies who offer such services to get average prices for things in my head.. this way you will have a rough estimate what your worker would be getting paid for the jobs..
