Ads In Captchas. Now I've Seen it All

Check this out. I came across a site that is using one of these. rather than filling out some random letters it shows you an ad for a product and you have to type something about the product to solve the captcha: http://solvemedia.com/publishers/

SolveMedia has been around for a while now, and they're definitely gaining in popularity from what I've seen. Some forums are now using them, and several web 2.0s. Genius idea, wish I had thought of it first lol

I agree, it's a great idea. Not that I like captachas, or ads for that matter, but you have got to respect the smart thinking behind this.

Great concept, yet a bit of Googling shows that some of the users' testimonials tend to float around the fact that payout structures/ratios are horrible, and that it takes quite a while to be able to make it up to the payout threshold, which is measly $200. If any one cares to argument against this claim, go ahead - it will surely motivate new players to come into the market.

i filled one up just yesterday, it was an ad by 'evian'.
the question captcha showed the logo of evian and the question was "write something about this company". I answered "water' which was correct.

pretty innovative idea I'd say. Can be used for CPA offers with a twist I can think of.

well, actually it would be easiest to automate since the ads are static and not generated using random content so a hash of each image coupled with the corresponding answer would solve them. They don't always show the ads though sometimes you get normal captchas.
