WP vs self code

Hi all,

i did search for this topic but no luck finding any answer.

i did use wordpress alot but my question is

if i make a website in WP with a front page and 2-3 subpages and dont use blog or any sidebar widgets you know a dead simple homepage like we know from the 90's
will google like my site better if i code it my self in plain html with a minimum of code ? i think WP has alot of functions but if i dont use them will i gain anything by coding my simple site in plain html then?

I don't think you'll gain anything by having a site with plain html. It's not always about google, but also think about the user experience. It'll be double work + no gain to me.

ok but the user experience is the same they cant see the difference in a website that simple but i can see the plain html site loads 0,2s and the same page in Wordpress loads in 2,4s.
i just think it is waste of code google need to read if i dont even use the functions in Wordpress?

Wordpress is awesome...just use it..i guess you wont get anything better than it.

If you are not going to update your web site so often then a pure html is WAY better option.

I never update the site and when it is needed then i do it my self so it is a static site with no blog function or anything.
interesting to see that darjobl think it is a better solution in pure html..

Wordpress is there for a purpose like allows people to register in your site, lets them comment, store the posts/pages in database etc. So It does nothing extra other than querying the database for the posts and populates it in the html page using php. If you don't need any of these features then what else you could use other than html.

I think yahoo and bing regard html built websites as better (my opinion at least) since they consider html built websites less likely to be spam (I tend to agree as well) however in google I don't thing it matters. However the html websites have to be totally error free and completely SEO optimized which is non straight forward (there are huge penalties by all 3 for any html code they consider as poor code).
At the end of the day however it all comes down to link building. So personally I use WP these days for convenience.

I am a web designer for a long time so far and when ever a client does not need to update his web site so often i recommend him a static html, because you can make it looks the way you really like it, the chance for getting hacked is, literally, 0% ( wordpress can be hacked with ease because on private hacking forums you can find 0day exploits which can get into mysql base from wp ) and it loads 100 x faster.

So my vote goes to html .

I am always trying to escape public cms, when i am making a really big projects i spend some time programming a cms by my self in asp or php in combination with mssql ( it is way more secured than mysql ).
