I've tested making a bunch of web 2.0 properties both directly linking to my money site and interlinking to each other. I have scrapebox backlinked some, bookmarked some, pinged some, or just left other's to sit. The results? Very little improvement in SERPs.

The backlinks are being indexed and I'm getting about 20-50 links per day appearing in Webmaster Tools, and my anchor text is highly varied. All the content is spun, but highly different for each blog (a series of 10 different spun articles being used). I am using Ultimate Demon.

I am primarily focusing on Wiki's, Web 2.0's, and bookmarks for my backlinks.

I have tested 2 new websites and aged domain with similar results.

Is anyone else having similar results with Web 2.0's and Wikis?

How competitive is the keyword you're targeting?

The keywords are both very competitive, to not competitive at all.

Before penguin I was able to just spam any website with scrapebox links and get it very highly ranked (even for some pretty competitive keywords) What else, aside from links are very important in getting websites ranked now?

Currently my onpage SEO isn't perfect, but it's similar in quality to what I was doing before penguin and it worked out fine. Is there anything else I should be watching out for that has a huge impact on SERP?

They do work, but you're going to need more if you're looking for good long term results.

Simply go white hat especially on your money sites.

Be real as well too in some cases.

For example, occasionally create web 2.0 with unique content, video, make a doc sharing, press release, videos linking to your site, high pr blog comment with low obl linking to your site too.

Build quality link wheels and pyramids.

Submit your articles to high pr directories, wikis e.t.c.

A lot of people fail to understand that it's no longer about Quantity but Quality.

Wake up and stand up to the fight.

It's basically easy to rank now when a lot of people are lazy, a lot of people have given up the fight, a lot of competitors sites have been penalized.

Seize the opportunity in the revolution.

I just threw up a little. I'm so glad I'm not whitehat. Sickening

I'm willing to do whatever works, but if it's going to take forever to do, it's not worth my time and other ventures will be. I'm looking for my backlinking to be automated. Is there something that I'm missing that will help automate the process? Should I stick with Ultimate Demon, or should I instead shell out some money and pay a VA?

If the PR of all your Web 2.0 sites is zero, then your going to need a ton more. A good link from a PR4 Web 2.0 site is a lot more powerful than a PR0. So backink those Web 2.0 sites.

Can improving backlink's PR simply be done by scrapeboxing and interweaving links?

10 unique handwritten articles are equivalent to 500 spun crap ones. Post 10 articles by hand on web 2.0s with images videos, meta descriptions, contact pages, privacy policy page, about me page etc, treat them as your money site.

Spun those articles by hand and mix all 10 to get only one. Use that article to blast your web 2.0s. Personally I don't use SB Blasts to my Tier1 anymore but you can do that if you do a quality blast. I remember someone on this forum has a low OBL service. Anyways, Point Wikis, Article Directories, DOC Shares, ReTweets, Forum Posts, Web 2.0 profiles, Web 2.0s and Bookmarks to your Tier1 and vary the anchor text a lot. This way you get fast results and you play it safe.

Over what time frame are you monitoring the results? Google has slowed down how quickly you can see movement in the SERPs. For example, I'm seeing results, but where they used to be in 3-5 days, it's now 3-5 weeks using the same tactics.

Ya this, how long has it been? G is has been REALLY slow for awhile now.

Of course there working although its not easy to get out of a penalty. No matter what you do.

do they work?
sure.
but do they work by themselves with no supporting high pr links?
no. not with good competition keywords
be sure you are building out high quality links with the web 20 links and wiki links otherwise you won't see the true potential. web 20 and wiki links are good supplemental links but not the solution if thats all youare doing with them.

Is Ultimate Demon the best product as far as price and time to learn to do everything needed to get these high quality backlinks?
