So many people seem EXTREMELY gullible around the forums here when it comes to thinly vialed sales pitches and even dangerous "free offers?" It shocks me really, lol. You'd think that black hatters would have an eye out, but every time some dork posts up a "FREE 99 pr10 BACKLINKS to 1st 10 MEMBERS!!!" thread the idiots come running. Some even giving out their URLs openly over the posts. Crazy stupid. And worst of all these "free offerings" and contests really spam up these forums badly. It's hard to get any action in real threads about useful subjects with this kind of bloat getting bumped up by morons every 5 seconds. Arrg...

I've mentioed this before. It saw me get neg rep'd by the monkies. I bet the majority of forum users here make hardly any money from IM, if any at all. The only people making money here are the noobs selling services. Most of which are terrible services vastly overpriced.

Rant over.

When someone offers free stuff that seems legit, then why not grab it?

Me, I don't usually fall for it. When someone offers you something, they usually expect something in return.

I'm always weary about this crap.

If it's so great, why give it out for free so openly? And don't tell me it's just because you're feeling nice.

but at least most of us no the 1 rule on bhw = no adverts in sigs for regular members,
might i add b4 you slate how you think people are, maybe look at your own mistakes first

I've yet to accept any of these freebies, because I believe that you get what you pay for. But, it seems that these people are looking to up their rep/thanks in order to look better when they try to sell something ;)

I definitely agree OP.
Tbh I think these "freebie threads" should either be banned or have a subforum of its own.
I've seen too many forums getting destroyed by spammy freebie-threads (hf.net)

I agree 199%, they are clogging up the forums.

Problem is that these posters DON'T bother putting them in the right sub-forum. They are usually right in the middle of the Blackhat or Whitehat section... I'm gonna start reporting them.

BTW I'd also like to add how irritating these threads like "pr0 to pr5, my live seo journey" that bribe users into posting into them by saying "when I complete my goal of pr4 I'll pick one poster here at random and give $100." That crap should be a ban-able offense, cause then the thread gets 10,000 people posting in with junk like "hey good luck, please pick me for the $100." It is pure garbage and I doubt if most of them ever result in any rankings or money given.

Anyone who has no experience with IM will be gullible. There's plenty of "seasoned" members who swallow BS because they know no better.

Ahh my bad. Anywho my point is that I like to browse the threads from the latest threads section (the front page) and often the freebie threads tend to swarm out all the useful threads.

This one really annoys me too. Bring the banhammer!
