Update :

* Bought 150 Pinterest Accounts
* ordered some traffic from Big Buddy's BST Thread $4.99

Just to mix things up from the usual seo stuff I do.

Update -

* Few Small Magento Sales last couple of days - really not relevant $$ wise compared to WP
* 4 more Sales generated from Pinterest about $20 in commissions.

Hopefully starting today I can do more sites with Pinterest and see what it can do - as bought some accounts last night
from a proper seller who's accounts are good - the free accounts from Bot Maker were junk really.

Good Hunting Today.

You are doing absolutely great! You may not know this, but your thread has motivated lot of people to start amazon affiliate. Thanks!

I am taking it more seriously myself - as it's better than messing with clients all the time.

I'm sure some people will try - and then give up or fail
but
others will figure out what works for them and make a nice income

but if you don't try - then you will never know .... good luck.

I don't think it helps the thread - which is about making money not scammers....

but briefly - I bought an Amazon Script from a provider. The provider set up the initial sites for me - we inserted my affiliate codes into the sites - and in the control panel my affiliate code was there - but when someone checked out - the providers code was inserted to replace mine so he got the sales. I contacted him saying there was something wrong - but for months he kept saying no everything is right -- after 3 months others started saying the same thing - and then he says well I put a security feature in the product that if you don't register the site with me - I take the commissions. So I complain obviously since I had a tonne of sales and put quite abit of money into it - and he says first there were no sales - then there were too many sales - then he will give me a list - then I have to provide him with a list of all the sales. He then says he will pay me -- then I hear nothing from him - so he gets his worker to answer my email and I tell the guy what I think - ie was getting pretty mad at this point --- then couple weeks later he says because you got mad I'm not paying you .. blocks all emails / disables me from the forum - you name it.... next you see him here leaking his script - and anyone who would have used it - would be in the same position as me - except I was a paid registered user. Basically the guy is a scumbag ....... I think that covers the situation .... I hope we can move on and not dwell on it further in this thread.

is that script fr**h store builder?

Update :

having looked at stats for Magento and WP and trying to figure out why Magento sells so much less I think this is the conclusion

on a WP site built as a "Expert" on the topic - people click text links - they click images and the cookies get passed more easily -- when they go to a store they know already they are purchasing something -- so while they may click around abit they don't purchase as often - and they don't tend to buy accessories like they do with a WP style site.

So I think keep that in mind with Magento - the traffic needs to be a little different and you will need more of it to convert -- and you miss out on those extra sales.

Obviously this is not definitive since my Magento Sites are so new - but just looking at it - this is what I got for you right now.

You might say to yourself - why does selling accessories matter ? Well I agree it sucks as you want people to buy the expensive stuff - but that's what helps drive your sales percentage up to 7 - 7.5%..... and selling a $2000 item at 7.5% is alot better than say 6%.

Hello Danny.

I just spent about 2 hours reading the whole thread and first of all I would like to say - RESPECT!
I really appreciate all you are doing here!

Now, I've been into the amazon affiliate business for about a year now.
At first I did really really good - made $38 on my first month, then $84, then $125 and after 5 months I made $500 a month without putting tons of work into it and with almost 0 expenses.
I marketed the "right" products with videos on youtube and I really felt I was on the road to making thousands each month.

Then youtube decided that they no longer want affiliate links in videos and they started closing my accounts one by one until I was left with almost nothing.

Now I'm looking for another way of working with as an Amazon affiliator because I understand the potential of this business. That's how I got to this thread....

Reading the whole thing, given that I have my own experience not only with amazon and the affiliate business - I can't help but notice a few major problems in this whole route that you chose to go through.
I'm not trying to be a party popper or to question your success - I just want to tell you what concerns me about this whole route for 2 reaons:

1) For you - maybe you should consider a different way?
2) For me - maybe you can give me some insights and show me that I'm wrong, or lead me to a different and better approach?
3) For everybody else who is inspired by this thread and is thinking of doing more or less the same thing

I'll continue in another post because for some reason it doesn't want to attach all my message...

Here are my concerns:

1) The goal.
You say your goal is to get a paycheck of $2000-3000 from Amazon monthly.
Reading this whole thread I see that each passing month your expenses on the whole thing are growing.
Have you considered the fact that once you reach this amount - your monthly expenses on domains, hosting, buying content, buying links etc... will leave you just $1000 out of a $2000 paycheck after expenses?

2) Time spent not calculated into expenses.
Seems like you work all day on those websites...Let's say you work 4 hours a day and have been doing this for 3 months.
That's more than 300 hours of work.
If your time is worth just $5 an hour - that's already $1500 you spent on this whole project before making sales (you said not to expect any sales for the first months)
So if I do exactly like you do - should I be ready to spend $1500 and 3 months of my time before making any profits?
That's not including other expenses, which there are....

3) Vulnerability.
What if something like what happened to me with youtbe - happens to you?
Have you considered that?
For example :
What if google makes another change in their algorythm which hurts all your websites severely or even by 50%?
That happened to many people before...
And what if Amazon closes your affiliate accout for no reason? That also happens and there are many testimonials about it online...
Of course this is always a risk - but it's a bigger risk when you have monthly expenses on the whole thing.

Ok : let me be blunt

My project is hugely cashflow positive because Sales have gone up from when I started this thread by Double+.

I have taken that extra money - bought some more domains / bought some Magento Sites / Added a few cheap one off services and bought a couple of bots... and added a VA at $150 a month ... if business keeps growing I will add another more advanced guy.

The bot which I bought 2 licences and 150 accounts is making me an extra $10-$50 a day -- again already cash flow positive.

If Sales dropped - I would cut the VA and cut the extra expenses immediately - leaving me with minimal cost other than my time.

Of course people starting today - have to start at the bottom like I did - but you can take advantage of the short cuts I find - because I am testing everything - so if that is not valuable to you - then your in the wrong thread.

Also you can see how I built my business from scratch - if you have another strategy then follow that... it maybe faster than mine and make more money -- all I can tell you is what I did - what I am doing now - and what the payoff is.

As far as Google goes : if tomorrow my Sales went to zero - I would cut everything - spend no more time on it - and let the domains expire - and I would still have made money... and move onto something else...... same if Amazon closed my account for some reason.

I feel like I am building this for the Long Term Though - providing higher quality / unique content and stuff people are looking for - which wasn't always the case.

** Summary : I think you have to keep in mind my project is growing because it's making more money and becoming alot more advanced because of that.

4) Expenses.
Lets say tou already have 100 websites online.
Lets ignore the hosting and domain expenses for a minute...
If you want to make some money of these sites and your method is original content and SEO - you'd have to submit a new article or review let's say...once a week per site?
that's 400 reviews or articles per month.
Even if you buy them for $1 and spend only 30 minutes (worth $2.5) on each article for editing it and listing it nicely in your website - that'll be a minimum of 3.5X400 per month which is already $1400...
If you outsource all this work completely it'll save you tons of time but it'll even cost more...
How do you get around these facts?

5) Could you please share what your plans for this whole project are for the next year or two?
What do you think your monthly expenses are going to be a year from now?
How many hours of your own time do you think will be spent in this while thing after 1 year has passed and how much money do they worth to you?
How strongly do you believe that these website will still be generating money within a year from now considering google changes and other changes in the industry?
How much time do you think you'll have to spend daily after a year just to keep the sales as they are, not to mention increasing them considering that items get out-dated (for example, nobody is going to buy an iphone 4s within 2 years from now...)?

So your time vs income question was probably more true in the beginning - but now it's not the case : spending less time as outsourcing grows and looking more at ideas and testing things to increase income.

Once I master Pinterest I will hire someone to do that for me as well.

If the whole thing goes Kaput -- LOL - so be it -- as long as I make it through Nov - Feb .... I'll be happy.

6) Another option I'm thinking of and I'd like to hear your thoughts about it:

Since I'm looking at a few thousands of dollars worth of work and expenses until I get my first $3000 check - why not spend this money on a ready made website bought from a selling&buying website?
For example:
I found a website which blogs about SEO and has 18,000 uniques per month and it costs $1000.
I'm not sure if it's not a scam - but that's beside the point...
If I can find a website with lots of traffic for $1000-2000 - isn't it wiser to spend the money on a website like this and put amazon affiliate links in it (please ignore the fact that this particular website is about SEO)?
One thing is for sure - It'll save tons of time and frustration...Don't you think?

Thank you very much (if you made it this far...) :-)
I'd also like to hear other people's thoughts about the issues I brought to the discussion...

Also bear in mind that if Amazon closes your a/c, you can still become an Amazon affiliate via third party networks.

that's it - I'm sorry I had to cut my message to smaller messages...it just wouldn't post my message as a whole...
