You have to be a musician to understand this. Non-musicians think all manner of wrongness. Stephen King's "Misery" is all about the lengths a determined and insane audience will go to in order to get what they want, and still remain ignorant of even the most fundamentals of how the art they "love" is created.

It's one reason why many musicians come to hate their audiences. Mostly, they deserve it.

I am really into classical music and am an amateur pianist, though I listen to pop music far more.
But what I really love about classical music is that it is so much more complex and deeper than other genres.
Take a look at this, I really love it. Prokofiev is an amazing composer and Argerich is just crazy good.

I am from Norway and listens to everything becides opera! You should listen to the work from Edvard Grieg if you like classical music

I listen many genres of music, but I do listen sometimes classical too. I like it, and during my IM work, it really does the trick. Makes me focus more on what I'm doing and I don't get distracted by some song that would make me thing about any kind of stuff.

Most important, next time when someone mocks you up about whatever you listen, simply reply to them: "hold on.. wait.. hold on... I'm looking for a fuck to give... nope, none"

If I have difficult work Vivaldi's Four Seasons or Mozart's baroque pieces make it effortless. Baroque music is supposedly music of the spheres and puts us in the powerful theta brainwave state or some dumb shit like that.

When I say mocking, it's not really offensive, just banter .. I grew up listening to the 'regular' stuff that kids tend to listen to nowadays, but the past couple of years I have broadened my tastes. People in my area don't usually listen to classical. We are too common for that People tend to think classical music is for the posh, old people down south!

I will keep that in mind I am starting University again in 3 weeks, so that would definitely help
