Scrapebox NOT WORKING? :(

The first time was annoying, now that it's down again....


I hope whatever they are installing to prevent ddos attacks in the future makes sure this never happens again.

I dont care if its a one time fee or not...if your going to make usage/authentication for a product I paid for dependant on something on your end, it should work...period.

I agree with this. Who will compensate for lost time and money as a result of this? That's rhetorical of course because no one will as usual. I don't mind auth being on SB's end, but it should work 100% of the time if that's the case. For a software of this reputation large scale ddos attacks should have been provisioned for.

At the same time can someone for all that is good please catch the bugger who is doing this shite. It doesn't really hurt SB devs as much because they already have our cash, it hurts the end users more than anything.

Its pretty shitty that the licence has to be validated via web. thats where the problem is mostly.

But yeah.. nothing anybody can do bout it.

I have to watch my SB instances like a hawk now, over 1 million harvested urls has a habit of never aborting properly I always get 1 connection that will not close which is not a big deal because of the sessions folder and the ability to save application state.

The issue is being lucky enough to crash when the licensing server is online.

As noted by Softtouch Sweetfunny can't access BHW right now. Sweetfunny had emailed me back giving me the update so I could update and told me they couldn't get to BHW, and so I am just posting what they gave me.


The short of the story is that for security reasons, scrapebox is directly integrated with the licensing servers. To mitigate the DDoS attacks they had to buy an entirely new server and hardware DDoS firewall protection.

Which means they had to first completely migrate the entire license database and all things on the license server. Then they had to build in the new server to scrapebox and recompile a new build of scrapebox to use the new server. Which is what is above.

Now they have to go rebuild and recompile every addon, and a bunch of other tools. Things like these are why it has taken so long and working out a DDoS server and having it and hardware firewalls provisioned with a new company etc....

Just sharing what I know.

I updated to the 1.15.50 and it comes right up and authenticates even though the old license servers still show they are under DDoS attacks.





Edit: Also you will need to reinstall your addons once you update.
At least judging by the looks of my addon screen anyway, but SF didn't tell me that so I don't know for sure. But since each addon had to be rebuilt it only makes sense, and I see an update for all of them.
