This website is banking with Amazon...

running on wordpress, what plugins & Themes he used ? any idea?

I don't think I'm hurting him. People mention other people's websites all the time. I just went further and analyzed it.

I just posted it because I admire the site and so we can all get ideas for our own websites. I'm so sorry for taking time and giving people ideas to make money.

That site is pure garbage... time will come when it's an update wipes junk like that as well. Too spammy.

Post your own best BH site - "might give people ideas to make money"!

I doubt it.

145,000 words - Very readable, and according to cs and plagirisma it's completely unique, every page seems indexed.

I did a full CS on a couple of pages and came up with unique. Plagirisma found only the phrase "friends and family" anywhere else on one (the Iphone 4 page) page with 2,100 words and 3 bespoke videos.

This site is likely pulling $25,000 per month if he's getting 1/2 the traffic his postitions for those keywords listed above are right and he can convert a $2 com at between 3 and 4%
My guess is that he or she will continue to do so for some time.

What's spammy about writing hundreds of thousands words in informative reviews?

The layout isn't great, but the content is pretty good. Unless he's messed up his linking profile that site will last some time.
You don't see many sites with almost 150,000 unique words in articles with pretty good LSI metrics languishing in the google sandbox for long - my guess is this won't be one either.

Scritty

This site can be replicated with the studiopress genesis themes. I have a similar structured site using enterprise child theme but its mostly news related. Still it serves all the same functions.

I took a quick look at his site and the first thing I notice is all the juicy content. Yummy Yummy.

His text is keyword stuffed with anchor text. May pass copy/scape but it looks bad and I wouldn't ever be that aggressive.

I doubt it.

as long as you have backlinks from sites from lifehacker.com, vice.com, gizmodo and wired.com, i think you are pretty set for ranking nicely

Whats interesting to me is the majority of the backlinks are coming from his interconnected network of sites, and they are all on the same IP. It looks like they are coming from the footer in each of the sites that displays a few posts from the others. I find this very intriguing. The Billfold's got some great reads too :-)

The dude either owns a diesel blog network or is buying links.

It's possible, although considering the population of searches is 300k for those kw's and his average ranking is about 12, if we're generous and give him 50k visitors across the board, and then be even more generous and give him a $10 RPM, that's $500 a month, which is fine for an amazon site.

Yeah wow... thats depressing. I figured he was making big money too but I just did the math using one of my own sites. I get about 500 visitors a day (15k month) and make about $100 but I also sell an item avg price of like $50

Can you please tell me how did you arrive at that figure? Thanks

The backlink profile is pretty strong. I just took a quick look, and here's the data in majestic SEO:
Referring Domains 2,479

External Backlinks 1,023,963

Around 80% of the External Backlinks are deleted. So it has around 200k backlinks.

In the past month alone:

Referring Domains 815

External Backlinks 339,898

Around 60% of which are deleted.

The backlinks are all quality. It even has backlinks from nytimes, gizmodo, and lifehacker. A lot of them are guest posts and paid posts too.

As for hurting his website by posting it here, good luck with it. It isn't your average run of the mill website that you can harm with a simple scrapebox blast
