Those rates are per 1000 downloads. And starting from August the rates of groups B and C will be lowered by 2$, and the rates of gorup A by 1$(But they still have many advantages). The introduction of new servers will also be completed and the uploading service will be back to normal(and improved).
And of course they are legit, I got my second payment yesterday (22.46$, I can post it here using a url shortner if you want) and so does many others(I believe a few of them surf this forum).

Well, rate is too high. more off, does it pay through paypal or checks?

A. They pay to moneybookers or paypal.
B. I'm using it for a couple of month now, I got paid 2 days ago(they pay each month on the 22, 24, 26 and 28), I have a small issue with paypal right now, will post my payment proof shortly.
So yes they pay, they are reliable. And those rates are not special, those are for 1000(!!!) downloads like most sites.
Check out the news section, they will lower the rates starting fro august - for minimum size files it will be 9, 3, 1 (and that's still ok, the site is "free users" friendly and pays! The admin shares everything with the users).
That's what they have to do to sustain and keep paying.
So, you don't have to use it, but at least read the thread and discussions before you publish those redundant comments.

Update - New servers are up, upload is available again and some new features.

You will get paid at the 22nd, 24th, 26th, or 28th as you know(last time they paid on the 26th).
And guys, those rates per 1000 downloads are not so high but at least they pay!
All those filehosts which give 15, 10 for groups A,B have trouble sustaining.
AA.VG at admitted that they have to lower the rates a bit in order to keep working properly.
Read the news section, they have some issues.
They are postponing the payments, will soon announce the new date.
BTW, I found another great host for small files, pays almost instantly with a 1$ minimum payout!
