This is possibly the most retarded thing I have ever done in my life, and I feel the need to share my noobness...

So I wake up and one of my accounts have been fully restricted for going 0.2% over the "item not as described" seller rating over the past 12 months >.<

So I call up eBay thinking I need to up my limits on my other account so I can shift all my stuff...

"Your two other accounts have been banned, so I will not be increasing your selling limits, and you will cease trading on this account."

So now I am just waiting for my second account to go under >.<

I don't get how they linked me...

I used VPNs different addresses/names/numbers

I feel your pain. Lots of work building up some good seller accounts and then having them get wiped out.

Were you selling the same set of products on both accounts?

Hello, Sorry to hear about your eBay problems.

Here is a list of how eBay tracks you:

1) IP Address
2) Personal Information
3) Cookies
4) Flash Cookies /LSO's
5) Web Beacons

Also remember to create a new windows user account for each account you run to help separate these.
Ccleaner will also erase Cookies, Flash Cookies and web beacons.

You get web beacons from images. Normally displayed in emails eBay and PayPal send to you.
Yes I think your second account is a sinking ship unfortunately.

Good Luck

Thanks for the feedback.

Second account just went under >.<

Excuse my noobness but I have 2 ebay accounts...Doing nothing wrong, I sell company stuff on one and private stuff on the other...nothing blackhat or illegal.. My wife has an account and she sells some stuff and my son has an account and he buys a few bits and pieces.. They both log on to my computer every now and then.. Am I contravening terms of service ?

Sorry to hear that. Keep us updated :)

You are within the Terms of Service. Families share computers all the time and that creates Multiple accounts
on one IP Address and PC. If you start/are selling in a high volume then eventual they may ask you for a copy
of a Utility Bill or scanned ID. But even this is not likely. Since all of your families accounts are in one basket just
keep it clean and your fine.

Good Luck Everyone,

Man, I was just thinking of getting into Ebay. Do they allow Backlink type of listings? I saw plenty but wondering if my fake account will get banned.

What RedClover says is definitely true. However....they can and will shut down all accounts running from the same location if they decide to close one for any reason.

Thanks, Yeah you add a good point that eBay/PayPal works like Dominoes. Once one account linked to others with the
Same IP Address starts to go down you better expect other accounts to go down the drain with it. And its very hard to
prove the other accounts are not affiliated.

the best way is to use "Private Browsing", no COOKIES are left when you close the program. No need to clean anything. SAFE & SIMPLE. You can also use User Agent switcher to trick them ;)

Hello every one im hoping you guys would have some advice for me i was just restricted ! =(
Because i sold 7 beats by dr.dre tour in ear headphones is there anyway i can get my account back maybe upload a invoice Any help would be amazing THANK YOU!

also Redclover
can i get your skype i would love to ask you some questions about this i saw your ask me about ebay post but i do not have 15 posts to pm you and the thread is closed but if we could talk that would be amazing Thanks everyone.

Probably zero chance of getting that account back. Best to take your lumps, learn what not to do (sell beats) and go stealth.

Thanks for the tip about Web Beacons. I hadn't really thought of that, but it makes total sense. Good thing hotmail and other email providers block images by default.

I use entirely different accounts on my computer for paypal (same would apply with ebay) accounts, along with static private proxies from different cities, rather than a VPN which is shared. This way, I won't mix up my cookies or any other data. In the past I also used different computers, but I don't think this is necessary. Hope this helps

Different computers is nice for organization. But a hefty cost especially for someone starting out. The main point behind it
all is separating LSOs/Flash Object and Cookies ect. A good tip is to use a different windows background for every account
if you have trouble staying organized.

I am fairly new to all this and have been very unorganised in the past but I have found Last Pass excellent for staying organised with all my accounts saved under easy to remember headings, works for me for web 2.0, Google accounts, Hotmail accounts etc etc plus it is easy to have all passwords on all comps.

Hope someone is not going to tell me I am making a mistake with this method as it works well for me.
