What's your opinion on re-using the content?

This is a question that I would really to discuss:
Assuming that a site gets a serious penalty due to a clumsy offsite seo campaign, is re-using the content (obviously, after asking Google to take the site from its index) a good decision?

In my opinion, there should not be any problem. However, from my experiments, no matter what I had done, Google simply refused to rank those articles as well as the first time. Moreover, I noticed indexing problems with most of the reused articles.

PS: obviously, I'm talking only about unique hand written articles and not about spinned crap.

I wouldn't necessarily "rewrite" the content in the spinning sense (software or cheap writer) but I would edit/revise it. Make some changes, to improve it even. If I might also suggest avoiding phrases like "moreover"... even if you DO use that when communicating it's a phrase used a lot by spinning software and fluff from cheap writers, so it's a word that I always delete whenever I'm repairing any content.

Yeah, I would agree with SaraJ to re-write the articles, and if it's over-optimized for onpage, get it back to normal.

Dont want to make it 'duplicated' with previous ones though google has deindexed the site.

Just dont make it over-optimized.

I always re-write a portion of it before I spin it, I'll find an area or two that I don't like or that I know I can put my own 2 cents in, and I'll re-write it. 2-3 minutes of our time, ya know? I rarely just flat out spin everything and hope for the best. TBS "best better good" option is pretty solid though, but still, it's best to be safe.

I would reuse and not spin.

Well, in this case, it' a technical niche. I spent more than 250 hours to write those articles and I don't think I have the patience to run all over those nasty terms again.
