Content updating

People are always saying update your content often. What happens if your website is not a site designed round content and vary rarely needs updating? I would like a view on this.

I would add a blog section. Freshness is a part of the algo and it seems to be getting more and more important. That doesnt mean a site with static content will not rank, it just may be harder.

Google loves sites that are updated regularly. By content not only means articles but anything your site is about be it images,videos etc.

Step 1: Asking the Right Questions (Learning About the Industry)
Step 2: Compiling the Data (Analysis of the Industry)
Step 3: Defining the Target Audiences and Identifying Project Goals
Step 4: Prospecting Influencers / Determining Shareability
Step 5: Creating the Content
Step 6: Analyzing the Results

The reason I like this article is because it gives hope to those industries that are hopeless, defines the importance of market research in your content strategy, directs you with clear steps to move ahead and is obviously applicable for any site out there!

I second this wholeheartedly, adding some kind of content, as long as it's unique and relevant to the site will help more than doing nothing at all.
