I've spent over $400 there in the last 48 hours. And that's with coupons.

I just had to force myself to stop.

Do you have to register the domain with them once you've purchased?

Yeah. Which sucks cuz it's expensive and they charge you extra for private reg. But it's the only way to get the domains.

Frankly I fail to see the point most of the time. It's so conditional for a domain to be of true value. It has to be a name someone really wants, that there isn't an alternative too, and it can't be a pre-trademarked name otherwise you have to release the rights at ICANN request.

Plus domain parking is an income stream that is drying up so unless you are in the microsite business it may not be that worth it!

I've spent $15k on one domain :)
Webiste is live and empty he he, released yesterday.

There are definitely gems on there. I've found a couple really nice ones of late. Have accidentally bought some turds too.... :)

Newbie question. I just got an expired domain from GD but can't see it in my ac. Is there a waiting period?

Anyone ever buy an expired domain....then check the wayback and discover the site used to have lots of good content ?

I nearly bought a domain on godaddy once but for various reasons I didnt have the time to do another site so I left it

When I checked the wayback the site had about 400 articles on it back in 2007-2008. The site was an enthusast site so they were genuine articles..reckon the guy must have checked out or put all his stuff on a new site. Do you think you would get away with copy pasting the old articles ?

Check copyscape and see if someone is using the articles.

Yes.

Log into your auction account. Click on your watch list and choose "Won" (it's next to like "bidding on," "didn't win," etc.). There will be a date next to each one. That's when you get it (although sometimes I seem to get them a day before that date).

I think the time it takes to transfer into your account depends on if the domain is hosted at GoDaddy or somewhere else. I think it's faster if it's already hosted with GoDaddy.
