I don't know about you guys but I've got too many domains and to sell them I sometimes put them on DP but no one there has 2 nickels to rub together over there.

Have you guys ever considered it? I mean there's a market for it. Out of DPs 16 million posts, 7 million are from the marketplace alone. Even if we had an automated script that charged $1 per domain and auto approved it, I think it'd be a big success.

I think that is a great idea and after success maybe raise it to $5 or something.

I've actually had some success on DP, although granted I haven't even been on there since prolly '09. But I sold a bunch of domains and even a few sites for $x,xxx without issue over there.

As to your suggestion though ya I think its a good idea, small listing fee and automated as you mentioned (I see no reason it would need mod approval like service/product).

Glad you guys support the idea. I think $1 will be enough to start. It will keep the time-wasters out but also be close to nothing at the same time. I think the profit in 5 days would pay off the $100 or $200 coder.

Yep, sounds like a good idea. And that script thing sounds good.
Like wowhaxor said, I don't see a reason as to why a domain would need manual review by a mod :)

Lets see what staff have to say about it.

I like the idea. The script would have to have a way of confirming ownership though to ward off scammers trying to sell valuable domains that they don't actually own.

i'm cool with it, as long as they don't show up on the homepage. I'm tired of all the bullshit on the homepage already, would hate to see it flooded with domain threads.

JV VIPs and higher can only post but everyone can view and buy.

If we put a post, thanks or reputation count requirement, that would just bring spamming and unwanted posts.

It would be another perk of being a JR VIP, which is highly needed.

Might I suggest the price to be $10 to $15 instead of $1

$1 is nothing..you cannot even buy a cup of coffee for that.

Well went you're going to list 30 domains at a time, $30 is a fair price.

$300 just to show your domains to the public is a bit much. I'd even give them 10% of the sale if the script supported that. However, I don't think there's a good way of doing that without the use of PayPal.

I actually have too many domains with some worth to them. I'd much rather sell them to a BHW member then a DP member. It'd be awesome if the mods somehow authorized a section for it and then assigned a reputable member as a MOD for it.

I don't think a mod needs to be dedicated to it. Auto approval shouldn't be such I big deal I don't think.

Although, about the payments, it could be just another Jr VIP perk and only Jr VIPs and higher can post buy all members can reply and view. Just another thought.

It would be a nightmare to manage and would definitely need a mod. It could work if integrated with an Escrow service but most domains being sold would be worthless so it wouldn't be worth using Escrow.

Quite like the idea of a small payment and needing to be Jr VIP or above to post, I'm just not so sure it would be that widely used.

I nominate meathead to be the mod! I'm joking, I wouldn't do that to you haha.

The key is it needs to be automated approval. Once you pay, it's live.

I do think it would be useful enough to have on the forums. Probably better as a JR VIP perk like meathead1234 said.

It could start as early as tomorrow. Simply set the permissions for Jr VIP and higher can post and all registered members can view and reply.
It doesn't have to start out with a fee, but it could be transformed into something that does, kind of like how the BST section evolved. It started as free, and caught everyone's attention then it started to cost money. The approval and mod situation I don't have anything to comment on other than perhaps they could try it for a few days then go from there, just like the JV section did. It was good for a while until all the shit list threads started, and now it has come time to modify.

I second this. Let's make it happen.

I'll let the powers that be decide, but I wouldn't mind helping out in that section to get it secure and running smoothly.

Thanks for volunteering meathead. I guess we'll just sit back and wait for now.

Thats good idea , agree with you .

Using Escrow only for big payments is fine , but in start its not good to include it .
Once it kick starts then depends on need , if we feel it necessary then do it :)
