Whats wrong with people giving away stuff ? If you actually get the followers or likes or whatever then you go and thank them after , no big deal , and you'r not forced to thank them since it's a Giveaway .... maybe they got a lot out of this forum and want to give back in some way . If they leave at the and of the post " Thanks and rep please " yeah i do agree thats whoring , but other then that i'm ok with giveaways

It's our choice to give rep or thanks. Should we find it useful, click "Thanks" or should we find it very useful and helpful, it's our choice to "Rep".

There is no force clicking on Thanks or Rep, so it's OK.

Just my opinion, but asking for rep or thanks always prevents me from giving it, no matter how good the post is. I can't neg rep, and I am not sure I would, people have always been told "it never hurts to ask", and "the squeaking wheel gets the grease" (enter you cliche here), and so on. Many people see no problem with a gentle reminder.

I just deny it to those who ask. It has stopped me hundreds of times.

Plenty of threads offering FREE services, ranging from Twitter followers to Backlinks, all so that users may acquire 'Thanks' or 'Reputation' - Isn't that against some sort of rules if they're not actually doing or giving away what they're claiming to.

I can understand what you're saying when it comes to people not following through on their freebies or whatever.

For somebody like me just starting out, some of these free stuffs are invaluable. Sometimes I feel like a bit of a leech knocking about BHW downloading free stuff and taking advantage of these offers. Giving thanks and +rep to genuinely useful services helps me feel a little better. I don't care if it's done purely to increase their standing if the service/download or whatever has real value.

Build their thanks/rep up to a high level, join Jr VIP and then set up a thread scamming peeps out of money. It is easier to trust someone who has a lot of thanks and rep, and even better if they have a bit of status.

Asking for rep/thanks is very bad form whether you deserve it or not. It is not up to you to decide, it is up to your peers here on this forum.

I can see how noobs could be fooled by some of the giveaways and feel a need to give back, it is human nature but just remember you may be paving the way for some folks to be scammed out of money in the future.

People keep saying the OP should chill out, stop whining, etc etc. But the fact of the matter is, newbie or not, the guy makes an important point. There are so many of these fake giveaways that it is too hard to tell which services are genuine or fake. A lot of time is getting wasted checking through 11 pages of posts only to realise in the end that the OP of the giveaway is a big phony. It needs moderating, and that is all Deleted member 355886 is trying to say. And yea my post count is low too, but I don't care.

Exactly correct, people think that Post count/ Rep/ Thanks equal a trusted member, when in actual fact it doesn't. Buying or selling things on the net has always been a tough gig, plenty of people out there waiting to snatch up your hard earned cash.

Threads that I've mentioned may infact be started by people like that. They're NOT giving anything away, they're just pretending too to receive Thanks and positive Reputation.

Apparently, you can't have an opinion on things unless you're Oldgen, or you've got a lot of posts. Didn't think I had arrived in another " GO AWAY NEWGEN / NEWFAG " forum again. Assumed the average age and mentality would range above 14-18 due to the type of forum, but sure okay. Have a go at me for my " Suggestion " which is exactly that, hope off my dick and chill.

Was a simple thread with a simple agenda, for Mods/ Admins to hopefully see and to perhaps read into so they could take a look at the issue I've brought up and decide whether it was something they may need to keep an eye on.

I also don't have a problem with people who get +Rep if they offering something for the Community. But if your are not giving it unless you get a rep or thanks then I think even Neg Rep isn't a solution. There should be a rule and they get Kicked out. As it seems Spamming for me

What's so good about this forum is that the reputation system doesn't get as abused like on other boards where people could create multiple accounts to drain your reputation points.
