What the hell... I cant post anything here, it says i'm spamming, but i'm not???

So, is an EMD good for 1st page ranking? I would say yes but is it so?

Yes it is. According to Cornell University: 56% of people click on the #1 listing when searching google.

Yes but, how likely is it for a EMD to be on the 1st page?

I have had a few exact match domains and couldn't rank them..that was post panda

What would be the reason for not being able to rank a EMD on 1st or 2nd page?

Is it useless to buy EMDs who get 7,000 / 12,000 exact searches?

For CPA...

Definitely still a factor. I've had easier time ranking a com rather than a net.

I would have to disagree. IMO I don't feel that EMD are as powerful as they once were. OK, if you are going to use it for a term that is not very competitive then great, go for it, but if there is lots of competition I wouldn't bother.

I would suggest going down the "brand" route. Google now prefers this and has turned the boost down for EMD. Too many spammers where buying up EMD and getting them ranked at the top of the SERPs too easily.

Yup, I agree. If you're shooting for a term that has low competition or using it for a sniper site, then EMD can work well for page 1 rankings. If you're trying to rank for a competitive term or build out a large authority type site, it probably will not help much.

It will rank the same as any other domain. EMD's account for so little nowadays (Since Panda & Penguin). They do however make make it more to the point on what your site is about.

IE: www.bigredslide.com is more presentable than kidsplaything.com

yes it is. I have some sites ranking on 1st page and top 5 ranking with there keywords...

Definitely a factor but helps if you purchase one with some age and a few links as well.

In my opinion they don't rank high and easy as they used to, they pretty much rank as any other domain. Perhaps if its a low competition you can get EMD to rank with little effort.

I have another point of view about it...maybe they will not rank like before panda but you can still build backlinks using your url as keyword (http://www.yourmainkw.xxx), it will pass panda/penguin and you have backlinks with your main keyword as anchor text.

Obviously it is good. And people most of the time clicks the first option. So if you can manage EMD or exact match domain that will be very helpful for you.
