Does a Wordpress title count as H1?

Hi, I'm just wondering if a WP title on creating a new post count as an H1 tag?
My Traffic Travis pro tells me that I have too many H1 tags but I only have one existing. I checked my posts and the title is displayed, along with my H1 tag right below it.

Yeah, just double checked and it says "h1.title" for the title and "h1" for the H1 tag.

If you're using Firefox, just hit Cntrol+U and look at the source code.
fyi, just checked couple of my sites and the Post titles are h1 tags.

Yep good idea. Delete the title (make sure the url doesn't change) and then above your body text, enter your title and select 'Heading 2' or 'Heading 3' from that list.

Whatever it takes to have one and only one H1 tag. Make sure the theme you're using or the seo plugin is not adding too many H1's or making your Title and H2.

So, you're saying to just have the title and make my existing H1 tag into a H2?
Can't really understand you but thanks for mentioning only having one H1 tag. I'll go change that now.

Okay, I've changed the H1 to an H2 and left the title there as it is.

Nope it's not that problem because I have a static home page. My home page is only one post, so that can't be it.

I've found that a lot of theme developers use h1/h2/h3/etc for every post title / sidebar heading / etc. So you end up with a page that looks ok but when viewing the source there's 45 h1's.

Basic SEO understanding should be required before you're allowed to put out anything someone else will be using.

500 words would be title, one H1 and one H2 maximum (if title was H1 I would reduce that)

Just 18 months ago the rules were different, but with over op penalties - I wouldn't risk it.
