making money from youtube

2 questions
1. how do you estimate how much money someone has made from a youtube video? Is it based on the number of views?
2. Can you steal a video that has gone viral and make money from it? for example, right now the hot thing on youtube is the kim dotcom raid video, which was posted 3 days ago and has over 1 million views. Can I copy and post that video on my channel and make some money without getting reported, suspended, etc. ?

I'm more than sure that google/youtube have software to detect when you've ripped off someone else's video - especially if you're trying to make money off of it. I would imagine that it's a lot like when paypal detects fraud on your account - they close/suspend the account (or video) and then take all the money associated with it.

2. If you steal a video, 1 (or more) of 3 things will happen:
1. The video will be removed.
2. The video will not show up in searches.

OP: DO NOT STEAL VIDEOS. You'll get the account banned real fast. Basically a good way to make money on youtube is to follow the latest news that is going on with ALL celebrities and movies. Send some fake views towards those videos so the video shoots to the top of the tage for the title/category. You'll start seeing views and money. As for how much money you can make, I do believe it goes by CPC in adsense keywords considering that your adsense account is how to make money with it. Well, you can also use CPA ads as well.

I'm just saying, there's a ton of users on here that make a ton of money by stealing videos and mass uploading them. Even if they only last a few hours, they still got a lot of views and made a chunk of cash.

You can earn money using youtube by simply applying for adsense.. You will b paid when people click the ads place on your video..
Stealing on the other hand is not a good idea..Make a video of your own and upload it...
