I have have been looking at starting my own micro job site and i know there is a lot of competion from top sites like Fiverr and Gigbucks and about 10 more who are really doing well. I have been doing reseach and 2 of these sites caught my eye. I did research on youfiverr and seoclerks. Youfiverr is about 2 months and is already a PR2 alexa 390K so i am thinking in a year this site could have a higher rank. I looked at seoclerks this site is about 10 months and PR5 alexa 6.8K. If these site can be ranked so fast im thinking there is money in developing a fiverr clone and selling it after a year or so. Any thoughts on this plan and is there a reason why these site would get high ranking so fast. Any advise would be appriciated.

thank you

They are lucky that they worked out...otherwise, there are 100s of fiverr clones u can find through google or by searching for threads here on BHW!

i wish u all the best on your micro job site project. play this game safe and do a lot of market research before you get in to the business. :)

I wish you the best. My advice to you is to offer something the others like Fiverr don't. Look through some threads, and see why people dont like Fiverr, and make sure that your website wont have the same problems.

reduce the %age of commission...Seller don't like 20% commission in fiverr

Great points from everyone, I know there are 100's of these sites but only 25 are really competitive or getting activity many of them people bought the clone and have not dome work on them. The ones where the owners have put effort into are ranked and have activity of buyers. I have a couple of ideas with what I will have on my site that is a little unique, all sellers will be able to sell from $5 to $50, I will clear funds in 3 days , charge 10% commision and will have a feature for sellers to be able to sell gifts, clothes and small electronics . These are some of the things I have in mind

Having different prices will put more competition on your site, for example people offering social bookmarks for $10 will soon see people offering the same service for $5. It'll be a mess IMO. Get a fixed price for gigs on your site and charge max 10% of the price. Do instant withdrawals, that's the most thing I hate about fiverr. Let the sellers get their money the instant the buyer confirms the order of being delivered. Offer more payment methods. Have people in place to investigate incase of disputes.

If you are truly dedicated and would like to JV, PM me.

I would suggest you creating some niche microjob site instead of universal one.
Your site must specialize on one exact niche. For example
voiceover
music
logo design
banner design
facebook page design
video creation

And you should put a free price meaning providers can set any price they wish.
Don't limit it with $5, $10 whatsoever.

In this case your site can be really unique and gain popularity by niche audience.
They will now if they need logo your site is where they will get it.
Because you will offer the biggest choice of providers.

I think it will be much better if you reduce the commissions along with getting a few good providers. Then get traffic and you will be making good money.

I think I will register a domain and start work on the site, I feel that if you out hard work for like 6 months in this business you can make money.my main question is how to get consistent traffic also has anyone heard of fiverrway this site is suppose to be good for promoting micro job sites. I will update you guys about the site

thats the million $ question anyone can buy a fiverr clone or design their own fiverr clone site but as you can see there are 100s or 1000s of fiverr clone websites which FAIL for just 1 to succeed, what you want to do it get as many quality gigs on your website, so when people do visit your site its not just empty.

someone i know who has a fairly successful fiverr clone website didn't actually start the site for that reason, they actually just started the site to sell their own services, but as more people visited his site and bought services, more people created their own gigs and so it got bigger and bigger...

Like mentioned i have done my home work and got lots of info about microjob sites and have some info from Cristian from fiverrway. Looks like i may be buying a site already established made initial contact with the owner so waiting for his Response. I will start a new Thread about this deal and what i should do. But thank you guys for the advise

I would advise agenst it.

10% commestion??! there's a reason fiverr charge 20% you need to ask yourself that question.

They have market share. Why would fiverr users come over to a new site with light traffic when they are already established at an established site with big trageted traffic?

Dont waste anymore time or money following this venture.

Just my advise.

Well my thought with the 10% commission is to attract sellers and get a base after a while I will move it to 15%. I am not thinking of getting successful in a few months. Which is why most people fail they are not in it for the long term I am looking at 1 year if developing the site building a brand and then after a year I may see results. But we will see

I see this post was first started in 2012, now its 2014 but i'm going to answer anyway since there are improvements in the world of starting micro job sites from then til now.
Yes, some micro job sites do get ranked fairly quickly, thats due to the loads of traffic some of them usually get from members flocking to sign up on them.. And to address your main question on how to start a micro job site, well, these days you have a few options. As you mentioned you could do a fiverr clonce, but thats kinda outdated nowadays since so much of them have been around so i don't think it's such a great idea with fiver clone scripts like that. Nowadays bossbugs is newer. You'd be better off using stuff like The TUM-J Script (which stands for The Ultimate Micro Jobs Script) to start your micro job site instead.

Will be the case if you are not a programmer. And it happened to me. I want a site like fiverr complete. In fact the best script in the market is very short of expectations. I suspect this is a game fiverr to develop the business. The best solution you build 10 markets with different script and the same traffic. So you will know. Script which one will work. Jobdollarr using a simple script. I'm referring to seoclercks using a simple script but can dominate the market. Maybe it's a matter of trust and trafic blog
