Can't Register Australian Domains

Hello BHW.

I want to register an Australian domain, but I can't because I right now don't have residence in Australia.

Is there a service somewhere, anywhere, that'll let me purchase an Australian domain name through someone else? It is a really stupid rule.

You don't need an ABN, your should be able to register one from anywhere in the world. If you are having issues, use a different registrar.

Really? Every time I've gone to register I needed an ABN, what do you use?

I don't think any non-aussie without ABN can order .au domains. I already tried to get one so many times last year but I can't.

That's right. For a .com.au you need an Australian Business. Domain name also has to be the company name or acronym. They're pretty strict.

They're not as strict as this. The domain just has to be similar in nature to the type of business you're running.

I hope they someday change that rule, though, as there are sooo many good Aussie domains to snap up.
