Need help focusing my efforts

So I've been toying with a few methods here and there over the past year or so, but it hasn't really amounted too much. One adsense check for little over 100 bucks that I didn't reinvest, and ended up letting the domain expire, is about all I have to show for those efforts.

Essentially in about 6 months time I am going to have a really big change in my life and I'm trying to pad my savings a bit to prepare for it. More than that, I really want to get to the point where I am self employed, and from what I've read here, 6 months time is plenty to build a profitable online business. My issues are as follows however:

I want to start over in IM, fresh slate as it were. But I'm not sure what direction to take. I've got CPA network accounts across 3-4 networks, an adsense account, adwords, couple twitter accounts with roughly targetted followers numbering 1500+, I'm even willing to pay for some cheap hosting, but I don't have a lot of money to invest in PPC at all, so I feel like I'm kind of in a rut. I have some tools available to me, but I don't know what to use and which direction to take.

If you were in my position how would you move forward? What approach would you take? Help me to sort out all this and pick an IM path that will work with what I have available.

Well , IMO since you were already successful with adsense , I would continue generating income with that method. And for a little extra cash you could offer your services to other web site owners since you already know what it takes to rank and earn with adsense.

I wouldn't really call it successful. It took me almost 9 months to get that 100 bucks, and the site I used is gone now, and the niche is full of competition. Big name competition, like Fortune 100 companies competition.

I think you mean Fortune 500

Anyways, yes I think you were already successful. You have a method that works, and now you just need to take what you've learned and scale it. What did you do right and what did you do wrong? Put your effort into 1 website and make lots of regular content. Think about it, if you had 500 articles of helpful content, why wouldn't they rank you? Oh, and I hope you realize, micro niche sites won't cut it anymore.

There isn't a tone of methods you can find that's completely free , other then starting your own service. Since your kinda cash strapped , I would start there and invest your earnings into something a little more profitable.

Listen to this, when I get stuck, I head back to the fundamentals.

I remember reading about Thomas Edison the famous inventor. Now he loved to tinker and invent new things (like we all do with the Internet techniques). One day he made the choice for himself to concentrate on only things that will generate money.

I now apply the same strategy for myself. I've dabbled with adsense, YouTube etc. My time is at a premium and I need to work efficiently and smarter to find the most profitable niches with the least amount of effort. If I spend 2hrs on 1st site it yields xx while 30 mins on 2nd site yields xx, then it makes more sense to spend more time with the first site.

Start working with the things that "you" know will work and build up from there.

No one can tell you which method you should work on. Read thru the stickies and posts and pick something that will yield the most fruits
