How are other forums copying BHW threads and posts?

So often, I'll be googling for info and I'll find a BHW thread. Ill go back to google and find the exact same thread, with all posts included in another forum. The only thing different are the usernames and links.

How are people feeding so much info from sites like BHW, into another site. And it's not copy and paste.

Sounds complicated, but people are doing it. Thoughts?

Its not that hard to make such script with good bit of RegEx. You do understand that forums are "templated" like blogs and content is just put in? When you recognize right ID's you can easily build RegEx (text pattern matching) expression that will remove all HTML code from captured site and just leave you with useful content. And since there aren't so many different forum platforms around, it becomes even easier.

Just like auto-blogs, there are auto-forums. They are not as popular though. Just ignore them, BHW is the real deal.

^^^ This. There are a few vbulletin forum scrapers out there. You might even be able to use WebHarvy to get it done.

It's not as if they are gaining DB access or something

My issue is that I find what looks like a legitimate forum and think it's got some real high quality stuff and then I realize that it's actually just BHW's quality content being reposted.

Ya, I believe I've seen copies from Best Black Hat Forum also. I can see how there's an obvious interest, that's why people are duplicating. I know people do this on many forums, but it was interesting to see it from BHW also.

You could advertise your own SEO/black hat products on the site. Or maybe adsense.

I've always thought it would be kewl to have a forum basically building itself while you boost it. You could have a massive site when feeding it that way. Im going to look into it. Maybe that webharvy thing you were talking about, or the scraper.
