Squidoo Lens generating about $200 weekly - How much is it worth?

I have a squidoo lens that I created a few months ago. I have to physically stock the merchandise and ship it myself. It generates about $200 per week in profit when I have my stock. It's ranked on page 1 of google for the keyword and I could probably make a more cash if I put other related products there....

I really don't have the time for it anymore. If I were to sell it, how much could I get for a lens that generates roughly $800 per month??? and where could I sell it?

Why would I have to back it up if I'm not trying to sell it...but I have proof via paypal if I need it. That's not a problem at all. I'm just asking how much it'd be worth.

I can show $135 in the last 24 hours with $80 of it being profit but I can prove income for the past 4 months or so...

PayPal will verify you got paid anyone can do that, you will need more than that to convince people!

i think the standard at least for your average website is 10x monthly earnings so $8000.

but because its a few months old, and because its a squidoo lens (could be deleted instantly, can't add content anywhere else on the site to help rankings, etc.) i personally think its worth less.

however, if you are selling because you don't have time for it and not because you need the money. then why not automate it?
find a teenager in your town you trust, get him to do the day to day. all you need to really do is pay for the stock.

I've thought about getting someone to manage things but I'm unsure. I'm thinking of just selling the business and moving on. I know I can't get 8k for a squidoo lens for the reasons you've stated but I'm pretty sure I should be able to sell it for a nice chunk of change. The lens actually has the potential for more earnings....

Hang on a minute Squidoo does not belong to you! PayPal is simply on online money exchange! Yet because you use both those resources for FREE to make sales! You then want someone to pay you a hard earned chunk of change for your Squidoo Lens!

First of all is what you're selling legal? Personally I don't care but that will be a buyer's consideration. How available is stock and suppliers? Are there more than one supplier? What keeps you from building another lens like this one to compete against this one?

Bottom line: this revenue stream is built on a 3rd party platform (Squidoo) so it has little value to serious buyers for reasons already stated. This lens could disappear tomorrow as you have no control over what Squidoo does. A serious buyer will recognize this. If you want to cash this you need to move it to a property that a buyer can own. You're trying to sell rental property and you're not the landlord.

Steelballs, I think I made your points clear in my previous post. Everyone here should know that whoever builds a squidoo lens does not own the rights to their content. I never said it belonged to me. That's why someone else stated I'd have to take less for a squidoo lens and I totally understand that...what's your gripe man?

Maybe you should ask your question where "squidoo lenses are bought and sold all the time...". They aren't bought and sold all the time on BHW I can assure you. I wouldn't give you more than one week's earnings and you'd have to show me supplier invoices and buyer's orders before I'd pay a dime. I'd probably call every buyer in the last couple weeks as a courtesy to make sure they're happy with their orders. That way I know I'm not looking at a bunch of fake customer orders.

You'll find many on BHW won't fall for this carrot on a stick marketing. We use that technique and are pretty good at sniffing out someone trying to use it here. As a previous member said, if you're asking for money you better have much more than some PayPal screenshots. This isn't Flippa, DP or WF. Most of us have been in a few rodeos and know how to ride.

Ask in a place where they trade lenses they might give you better advice.

Besides all that, the value of the site would also depend upon how much time & energy it takes to earn the money. It's not the same as an Ad-Sense site where the money just rolls in with no effort.

Also seems a little ass-backwards in that if the product sells that well on Squidoo, it would also sell on a standalone web-site. Which makes the product and the finer points of selling it have a separate value than the site that's being used to sell it.

Oh wow, are you serious? I don't feel they're good for anything and I've been a member of both longer than a member here. I think I have a post count in the double digits on both. It's hard to glean anything good off either of those forums IMO.

I told him it's worth a week's revenue based on what he provided. Are you giving him advice or just lecturing those that responded? It seems the latter.
