I'm curious what everyone here uses for anonymity and staying under the radar (or if it is even necessary?).

From reading, I get the idea that people use different IPs for checking their different email accounts, different advertising accounts, and different CPA accounts. And that people even use different email providers. But what I can't exactly figure out is if this is for personal anonymity reasons, or if it is to keep each diversified segment separate in the event one falls?

I guess I'm wondering just how cautious I should get. Should I be using something like HideMyAss with a "change IP every 1 minute" on my remote VPS while also VPN'd locally? It seems egregious.

I may not be reading between the lines enough to understand what people are trying to safeguard against.

What kind of bad stuff are you doing?

Me? Nothing. Like I said, that's maybe where my mis-read comes from of the posts I read. I don't really understand why people are so adamant to stay under the radar if what they are doing isn't really illegal (maybe morally gray, but eh).

I'm asking because maybe there's something I'm missing?

The only reason I can see someone wanted 100% anonymity is if their using scrapping, spamming or doing any form of illicit activity. If you're not doing any of those then I don't see the purpose behind multiple ips or being anonymous...

Plus there's so much more involved than just an ip address!

I change my MAC address every 2 seconds and wear these:
