How do I prevent auto-update? I understand have to put server in host but what numbers? Otherwise not working

I've downloaded and installed according to instructions. After program started "Update" message appeared. When trying to close it program shuts down. So I've updated and it is trial only. If anyone has working cracked version could you share please.
